Review summary

Our last cruise was over 20 years ago so we were not sure what to expect.  However, we were very impressed with our Carnival Pride cruise from Baltimore to the Bahamas.  The ship is beautiful and very clean.  The entire crew was so friendly, helpful, and always smiling.  Our room steward, Domingo, was so attentive....we loved him!  The food in the dining room rated 4* in our opinion.....an extensive menu variety, delicious, always with a beautiful presentation.  We were extremely fortunate to "discover" the dining crew led by Zarrah and assisted by George and Made.  They were the very best, so friendly, fun,and attentive.   We always asked to be seated in their section when dining.  The Lido deck had a wide variety to choose from for casual dining.  The only negative was that most stations closed in the evening so for late (after 11pm) snacks we had our choice of pizza and ice cream.  However, even the crew needs time off, so it did not really bother us.   Entertainment varied and there was always something to do.  Our favorite was the comedy club, which featured shows both PG and R rated shows.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Great selection. The main dining room was exceptional. Recommend "anytime dining" so as not to be locked into a specific time. We seldom had to wait and if we did, it was usually only a few minutes. We always asked to be seated with Zarrah and so sometimes had to wait for a table to become free, but that was fine because we loved Zarrah, George and Made!

Onboard Activities

We really enjoyed the art gallery viewings and auctions. Even if you do not buy anything, we recommend you visit the gallery and attend the auctions. We loved Kent, who was one of the gallery representatives. She was very knowledgeable and gracious to us the entire cruise.

Entertainment

The comedy club was the best. But there was always something to do....trivia contests, entertainment, music, the list goes on and on.

Service and Staff

The entire crew was always smiling and friendly. Loved "our" dining crew: Zarrah, George and Made, and our room steward, Domingo. The bar attendants were always very helpful and friendly too.

Ship Quality

Beautiful decor and very, very clean. Well laid out.

Cabin / Stateroom

We loved our Suite! It was spacious and very nicely decorated. The bedroom and bathroom were very large. LOTS of closet and drawer space. There was a small refrigerator filled with items for sale, but we asked Domingo to remove the items so we could store our own things. Lots of mirrors and excellent lighting. A flat screen TV and room thermostat. We did not use the balcony as much as we'd expected. We had no complaints at all about the room.

Ship tip

Be sure to check the daily schedule for the activities, specials, dining information/times/dress, etc. We carried it wherever we went. There was so much to do!

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

5 out of 5
If you have time before or after the cruise, go to the Baltimore Inner Harbor. We especially enjoyed Ripley's Believe It or Not, and the Historic Ships tours of the submarine Torsk and sailing ship USS Constellation.

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

DId not get off the ship because we'd been here before.

Nassau, Bahamas

The stores were ok but the market square vendors were quite pushy and aggressive. If you decide to have your hair braided (in the square when you get off the ship) make sure you have the price in writing. We were told several times the cost was $5 only to find out it was $4 a braid. Very deceptive.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

The vendors were not as aggressive here. Lots of small shops in a big square. Very hot and humid this day.

can you request a table for two when your going to eat in the dining room rather than eating at a large table?

For late night snacks you can also order room service. 👍
