Enjoyable Cruise by revbvt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My wife and I had a good time on the cruise. Our waiter was exceptional (Lucy). We made some good friends at our dinner table. A couple of folks LanaDana and Alexandria were very helpful and enjoyable at the art auction. Food was fine, but not exceptional. Storm came in a made the trip home pretty rocky but there were very good attitudes among guests and crew.

Dated Ship, Bad Food but worth every penny by sarasotadreams

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I would go back again and again.  This was my first cruise.  The lines to get on the ship were atrocious.  Upon entering the ship, I was surprised at how dated it was but, it was very clean.  The food was bad but, there is so much to choose from, you can find what you like.  Even the pizza was bad.  There is never a shortage of things to do.  I had so much fun that when I got home, the first thing I did was look for another cruise.  I bought the drink package but wouldn't again.  I don't think I got my money's worth and tried to get it.  The drink prices were not as bad as what you hear.  The service is impeccable.  Do take a lot to read.  There is nothing on board to buy to read and the library hours are short.  Do take a watch or you'll have a hard time finding out what time it is.  Take a water bottle to refill.  The beds and sheets were very comfortable.  This was the best sleep I've had in years.  Take a hair dryer.

A Great Cruise by rlshelby

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our room was an exterior one with port hole view. Room was very comfortable, clean and well attended to.

Food on this cruise was better than a previous cruise, waiters were very attentitive, and ensured that our needs were met.

Onboard activities were well spaced out, with time to get to various activities. The family shows were well thought out and content was suited for teens and children.

The final show on the last night was a winner. The cast and voices were extremely talented, and took pride in the presentation of it.

The excession to Coszmel was very enlightning with the Island and the people, would have liked more time to explore the ruins. The water was beautiful as well as the beaches and rock formations. Had an excellent meal in a Spanish home and toured a Tequela factory with taste of various brands.

The stop in Grand Cayman, started with getting wet on the small boat ride to shore. The rain was unexpected, but once dried off and the rain stopped, our visit to the turtle farm, and a unique visit to Hell was very good. Had an excellent meal at a local restruant and it was time to return to the ship.

Food aboard the ship again was excellent, many choices on the Ledo Deck, and our evening meals at our dining room. Could drink the ship waterand did not need bottled water with the meals.

This curise compared to the one to the Bahamas, was a far better experience for the entire family.

The entire crew went out of their way to ensure we were well taken care of.

We will definitely look forward another cruise.

1st cruise On Carnival by troll1763

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my second cruise and my first on carnival. Even though the ship was older she still was very beautiful, well staffed by very friendly people, the food was awesome with many options. I would recommend this ship as the cruise director and his staff were hilarious, the comedy club had 2 great comics who do both a family and adult show. Even with an inside cabin at the bow of the ship on a lower deck we had no trouble sleeping, had plenty of room and the shower was really a good size (room for 2) and never ran out of hot water.

Show shortage by jakimill82

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall a nice cruise, food was very good, staff was friendly. I was unhappy with the lack of shows. They had no shows on either of the nights when we had been in port. I can understand maybe in Cozumel as ship didn't leave until 8pm, but we left early in Grand Cayman and still had no show and the late night comedian was a repeat of his show the previous night, plus no comedian on the Cozumel night even though they had 2 aboard. I am used to shows nightly on a cruise. Also comedians were changed out every port when I did this cruise before.

An Experience! by BucketList

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was an experience!  Unfortunately our cabin flooded (broken pump on toilet) and yes still gave it 5 stars! Why?  THE CARE WE RECEIVED AFTER THE FLOOD!  It did take about 20 minutes (this was at 6:45am)  for the water to be turned off.  We were so pleased with the results and care we received!  Moved to a new cabin, credit on our account, bar drink coupons and were visited by "Willy" the next morning to make sure we were comfortable and settled in our new cabin.  We were made to feel like VIP's by the Housekeeping a Guest Services staff!  Would recommend this cruise just because of the thoughtfulness we received!

cruise by jeff835

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

the cruise cash bonus was a total disappointment.  up to $1000 cruise cash turned into $25.  I do not recommend purchasing the cruise thru as the "bonus" is not a bonus at all.

This ship needs a complete overhaul---- by lsc32703

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was the worst cruise we have ever taken!  The ship needs an overhaul! The cabins still had very small CRT televisions (with very bad pictures) the carpets and bed linens needed replaced!  The bath sink was chipped and scratched and drained very, very slowly; the bath tile was cracked and chipped, and I got bug bites in bed! The food was not very good and the entertainment was not great! The live band and games were held in a very crowded HALLWAY in the smokey casino---not on a stage in a separate room or lounge. There was a lack of things to do during the daytime (ex: movies, games, karaoke, shows,Trivia, The stage shows need to be updated to 2014-2015---we saw the same shows 15 years ago! When we went to Grand Cayman on the Tinder---the crew did NOT help us down the steps so I fell and twisted my knee very badly and had to keep applying ice to my knee and was in pain the rest of the cruise! Since I hurt my knee and could hardly walk (walked real slow)our shore excursion did not wait for us and took off leaving us behind! When at the customer service desk we could not hear the agent and they could not hear us because of a singer in the lounge.....We have had much better cruises on Royal Caribbean and NCL  Sorry I need to be honest for your future guests!

Love the Paradise by RonP1201

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This is our 3rd time on the Paradise, My Lady friend Carmen and I really enjoy traveling out of Tampa.  We Live about an hour north of Tampa and its so convenient.   This ship and crew are so friendly to its passengers they make you feel like family.   We will be back on the Paradise,  January 5th 2015, this time we will be joined by my Daughter, Son in Law and 2 grandchildren.  It will be their 1st cruise experience and we know that they will have a fun filled experience, that will encourage them to be a frequent cruiser.

Loved the Paradise by lindalong213

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Paradise is an older ship, but I feel she's been kept maintained pretty well.  She doesn't have all the bell's & whistle's the newer ships have, but she was comfortable and easy to navigate.  The food was good both in the MDR & at the Lido buffet.  The show's were also very good!

We don't really care for cruises less than 7 days, but my sister-in-law & her husband had never cruised before, so we booked a 5 night so they could see if they liked cruising or not.....yep, they loved it & I'm sure they will book another one!!!!!

Had a wonderful time. Entertainment was great.

The only thing that is and was very disappointing is that if you travel alone your pricing is doubled. It is as though you are penalized for travelling alone.

Too much Smoke by d4stir

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The food in the main dining room was pretty good, the room was clean and overall the entertainment was enjoyable.  Only problem was the level of smoke.  As a none smoker I quickly developed a sore throat from the level of 2nd hand smoke in the Casino, main pool deck and bar areas.

nice cruise by bmayhonda

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

As far as the staff, the food the cleanness, and the activities on board everything is great. The only downfall was I didnt get my onboard credit that was promised to me. Also after we left port on the water for 2 days straight I had a paper in my room to go to customer service with my passport for them to keep updating my information in the system. So that was alittle aggravating.

Great anniversary cruise by laurlinlu

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My husband and I had a great time on the Carnival Paradise. Overall, the staff is very nice and helpful. The only complaint I would have is that there are not enough trash cans on board. You cant find them anywhere and this causes people to just leave their used bar glasses and trash everywhere, not that this is a good excuse to be a slob! We saw trash in the elevators,on ledges,on the lobby floors, just everywhere! There must be a reason for the lack of receptacles, perhaps fire prevention? Anyway, overall we had a great time! Just be sure to read the fine print before booking because we were a little surprised on some of the charges we received and it blew our budget on our sail and sign account .Zoiks!

Cruise on the Paradise by grantcrate3732

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

From the moment we stepped on board the Paradise, we where met with a very friendly crew who sought to give us the very best service. Our cabin m233 steward Adi had the lifejacket cabinet removed so that we could walk around the bed and crawl over it. Our room was a standard room but was clean and had plenty of storage space. This ship may be a little bit older than others that we have sailed on but is still a beautiful ship with plenty to do. At dinner table 365 our waitress Jannet was wonderful. The food was good and enjoyable. The only thing that could have been better was the pool size for this size of ship, but even that can be over looked when it became standing room only you where able to meet the people around you and make new  friends. For a short layback trip this is the one.

dining details were not correct! by jhaberl2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The dining experience was rough from the first night!!  We were (9 total) to dine together in the Destiny at 6 pm!  The first night was a disaster!! we were all separated, different dining rooms etc. and my 90 year old mother and the other 3 of us were late getting to the Elation dining room and was rushed thru dinner!

The following 4 nights in the Destiny were the worst experience! Took forever to get food from kitchen!

the waiters Oscar and Franklin were very good but were not able to get our food! It was very hard to eat a full dinner in less than 30 min to clear dining room for the next seating!  We ordered 2 birthday cakes in the beginning of the cruise and they were forgotten and very sad.  Rooms were great and everything else but our dining experience was horrible every night!
