Review summary
Lifeboat prep/drill was poor. Could not understand command/instructions.
There was almost no enforcement of smoking/non smoking ares.
The Casino was too small for nonsmoking area to make a difference in air quality.
Buffet structure was a bit restrictive and had no flow to the line.
Food services staff seemed extremely unprepared. Daily they were surprised when a specific supply ran low.
"Adult" pool area was inundated with children.
Poor TV viewing experience.
Additionally, FOXNews was in the guide but nowhere to be found and CNN was in every language.
CHACCHOBEN MAYAN RUINS & BEACH COMBO
Arriving late to Costa Maya left a bad taste in my mouth. The fee for the rain parka did not help. The 55 minute bus ride up was dulled by the fact the tour guide only spoke to the driver of the bus. We had no real insight to our destination. This was a precursor to the limited knowledge-base our guide had throughout the tour. He was only able to point to the map and then point to the structure and then read the map's description. Upon reaching the beach it was crowded beyond belief. Additionally, our "open bar" was dirty and unpleasant.
Our excursion was cut short by way of our delayed arrival and the return 55 minute bus ride was equally as silent.
HONESTY in obstructed view images for Suites.

Can't blame Carnival for the shore excursion tour content. I don't care which beach you go tom, they are usually crowded, and as an open bar on the beach goes, it's outside, on a beach, in Mexico, that alone should tell you sanitary condition will not be too high. As for your room, you said you booked an obstructed view, well that is what you got, an obstructed view. A quick look at the deck plans would have told you you were behind a life boat. Like others said that if you look for faults you won't enjoy yourself. Also, if TV viewing is what you want to do, perhaps a cruise isn't the correct vacation you should be taking. There are several Accor or Choice Hotels across the country, choose one.
