Review summary

We will not go on this cruise again. The first 2.5 days at sea is a no-go for us - especially with over 4,000 other people on the shop trying to do the same activities.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
We have priority check-in and was able to schedule a check-in of 10:30am. We arrived and checked-in on-time, only to be put into a large room without enough seating and zero water - for over an hour! To get water, we had to leave the one room, go past security to a drinking fountain, get a drink, show our tickets again, to go back into the priority room. Seriously? No water. Room packed. Not enough seats. And nothing to do with Carnival, but some festival was playing next door and the reverb was deafening in that room. Horrible.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Staff was awesome! Dining food options were kinda disappointing. However, they did offer a no-sugar added dessert on each night's menu- and they were amazing.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
There is a SkyRide and our grandson loved it the one time he was able to ride it. But there were so many people on the ship, every time he went to check on the line, it was always over an hour wait. Fitness center was always packed when we went there. Foosball tables need lots of TLC - the rods stick because they are rusted. One foosball table only had a ping pong ball to play with. Mini Golf was always busy. there were over 4,000 people on the ship - the first 2.5 days were cold so a lot of people crammed inside.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Went to a Rock Legend's '69 show. was so excited - and for the first few songs, it was fine, but they changed the songs so they were barely recognizable. And they mixed with it, interpretive dance - which in our opinion had nothing to do with the songs. Only attended that show. Other show titles were not at all interesting.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Waiters, bartenders, room stewards - all exceptionally nice and efficient. Customer service on the other hand... if you don't have to go to there - don't.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Amazingly clean. They are constantly cleaning.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
We had an Ocean Suite for 3 people. Room was fine - but other cruise lines provide a curtain to separate the beds - would have been nice.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

We did the snorkel, beach, hike/waterfall excursion - but we did not do the hike. It was the first day in 7 months that it had rained so I'm sure the hike would have been great, but we had been told by the ship that the waterfall would be dry so we did not leave the ship with appropriate footwear. There are two things to remember about EVERY excursion. 1) They beg beg beg for tips. 2) The more alcohol they serve the more they beg for money.

Mazatlan, Mexico

4 out of 5
We did the zip lining tour. I do not like heights so was pretty nervous - but the ride was not scary, and the hike to the first platform was nice - albeit a whole bunch of stairs to climb - we had to stop a couple of times to catch our breath. the best thing was I didn't have to climb up a ladder or steps to get to the platform - instead, the platform was level with the ground and for me that was amazing. At the end, the workers stand around asking for tips and once someone deposits money, they hoot and hollow and clap.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

we did the luxury sail boat excursion - we left the dock at 7:45am and they started offering tequila shots.

Disembarkation

CRAZY. Everyone is told to only wait in the designated areas which does not include around the elevators. So we waited, got our text that we time was next, and could not get to an elevator so had to use the stairs. Very crazy.

I was on this cruise too. Yes he was riggt there was a lot of people but what you expect. Kids are out of school lots of graduation parties I'm sure. We celebrated our daughter's 50th birthday. Everyone was fantastic. We has a group of 16. One teenager a 4 yo & a 7 yo. They all had an amazing time. Service all around was the best we have ever had.

As you know 10:30 was your arrival appointment time. The ship usually starts boarding around 11:00-11:30. Where you were in a suite you were placed in the “Captain’s lounge” every time I have been there they have water available. That must have not happened in this case. Sailing in this time of year is hard with all of the families on board. I found the best times to go to the Sky ride was as soon as it opened and on port days as well. Sorry you didn’t enjoy the cruise. We have had a great time every time we have sailed on Panorama.

It was your choice to cruise in June when the majority of people go cruising with their family. Complaining about weather again your choice. It's unbelievable how people like yourself find the smallest and petty things to complain about. Good, I hope you never cruise any Carnival ships, so our paths never cross.
