Review summary

First west coast cruise was really nice. Love to see and do new things. Much different than the carribean we are used to. So many whales!!! We were spotting them from the ship too. Great time!

We boarded a little late.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Food was pretty 👍 good.

Guy's Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse | Brewhouse

3 out of 5

Beef and pork good. Chicken full of small bones as if a hammer was used for butchering. Be careful! LOL. Sides were ok.

Lido Marketplace

Breakfast was just ok at best. I noticed shipwide that the bacon , when available, was cooked medium and was very uniform. Normally it was a soggy crumbled mess on other ships. Lunch options were decent. Food was well, buffet food hit or miss.

Service and Staff

All staff across the board were excellent. Our steward Dener was a superman!

Ship Quality

Caution on aft balconies. Lots of soot noticed! We were told to use towels on chairs to avoid getting dirty. At least they warned us? Generally the ship looked good and clean, even the outdoor smoking areas. The casino was a mess. Lots of accumulated glasses and ashtrays. Really dirty.

Cabin / Stateroom

Aft extended cabin. Havana. Cabin was great! Soot on balcony but was wiped down daily. Think there was two outlets and two USBports on desk. Liked the direct stairs to Havana area. Christmas videos mixed in on TV still. Kind of funny. Great hvac.

Ship tip

Very nice ship and itinerary. Bring extra warm clothes for winter month. Kinda chilly if you have never been on pacific cruise.

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Carnival excursion luxury sail and snorkel. Sailboat took us whale watching and snorkeling. Nice lunch onboard and open bar. Many whales and the snorkeling was awesome.

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

So it rained when we left and arrived back. Was not impressed with the Cali weather. Stayed at Queen Mary hotel!!! This was amazing!!! You can access probably 75 percent of the entire ship. They are constantly refurbishing the ship. Many exhibits are free with your room price. Went on paranormal tour at night which was amazing. You can visit without staying but they charge in that case. So worth it!!!

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Carnival excursion Whale watch and snorkel. Saw many whales! Close up! Snorkeling was good. Water cold but swimable. On way back crew dressed up and performed lmfao, guns and roses and Shania. Hilarious 😂 .

Mazatlan, Mexico

Disembarkation

We usually wait in lido till the last call. Seemed pretty organized on this ship. Had to walk a weird route through front lounge/theater around exterior hall to midship to gangway. Weird, but line moved quickly! Passport line was lightning fast! Baggage was easy to find. Ground transport (uber) was fast and waiting area close to terminal front door.
