Review summary

I really liked the cruise but it cold be better in my opinion.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Easy embarkation process, detailed and nice and easy to embark. They changed the process, and now the embarkation is easy and fast.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Carnival cheaped down on all the food. Not a lot of options anymore, never any strawberry ice cream, not many deserts and less food in dining room.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The activities were really good, with the sky ride, the gym, the spa, the pool everything was good. Could be better.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Many entertainment in Lido, with music, DJ, vibe with your own headphones and Skyzone for the kids. This time not that many performances like usually. Not sure why but was not as good as the other cruises. There is also a Arcade, and Casino and both were good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Best workers, our steward was good. The resturant waiters, workers and ship personnel are very friendly and outgoing and easy to talk to.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ships layout is really good, because usually I always get lost but this time the layout is very nice because it’s easy to find out where the aft elevator, front elevator and back elevator is at. The elevator system sucks now, for me. It’s hard to use, and get used to at first. Then afterwards it got really easy for me. The ship was clean, except the handles on the lido. Deck 11 was very dirty though.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Good cabin. Perfect size, and good balcony.

Ship tip

Don’t be scared to talk to the employees onboard, and buy stuff on sale.

Ports of call

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
Wonderful port. Nice view. For WiFi go to the back of the ship and get free WiFi from the port. The urban view was really nice. I wouldn’t go on any excursions but I went on the horse riding. It’s expensive for the excursions so I wouldn’t do it. Instead just go to the local Walmart, and go look around.

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

4 out of 5
Much traffic but expected in LOS ANGELES. When leaving don’t expect a Uber or Lyft because it won’t work. No drivers are willing to drive to the port because of the heavy traffic. Your safest bet is the carnival transportation, and if you can’t do that then use the local taxi there. Free WiFi too 😉

Mazatlan, Mexico

3 out of 5
Very hectic and chaos. Free wifi at port, and many shops. Here I did the Mexican village tour, but it was worth it. You will see a lot of stray dogs and you can’t really look around the city without a taxi.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

3 out of 5
Best ocean here and best beach. Don’t buy excursion from carnival, because I went on the same excursion for 25$ whereas everyone else payed 150$. You can buy excursions by the local hustlers for cheap and you can bargain too!

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Disembarkation was the worst thing about this cruise. It was very confusing, and nobody explained anything and it was just pure chaos. They could do a way better job, everyone was arguing and nobody could leave and they made us wait.
