Review summary

I must admit, having been on other ships and hearing of its reputation, I had low expectations of Carnival. However, it was a wonderful experience. The ship is literally fun - there are so many programs and so many things to do on the days at sea. It seemed to me that there was something for everyone - bars, shows, quiet spaces, loud spaces. You could be fully dressed up, or very casual and you felt comfortable no matter what. The ship was crowded-ish - nothing more than any other cruise and, in fact, we never had a hard time finding seats, lounges, etc. I'd definitely sail on Carnival again. Just get rid of the boring comedian!

Onboard Activities

The fitness center was well-equipped and we enjoyed that. We also enjoyed the library on a few evenings. My 19-year-old liked the gathering for people his age. In fact, he ended up meeting people from his college and had a blast with them.

Entertainment

If this were reviewing the Piano Bar and Gilbert - I'd say excellent! He was fantastic and we went back there on multiple evenings. The singer who did the Beatles show was also excellent and we watched him multiple times. The big show was great - we watched the Broadway show. But the comedians. The guy from New York was just okay. The other guy - the headliner - was so boring. He had an old routine and insulted audience members. He's not funny enough to be that insulting. My husband was falling asleep and we just wanted to leave. Really our only bad experience on the trip was that comedian.

Children's Programs

Our kids are both adults.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was friendly. We even had people working on the deck who would stop and wish us a good day. I would equate the friendliness at Disney-level.

Ship Quality

Everything was well-maintained. The ship is beautiful.

Cabin / Stateroom

Clean, comfortable and enough room for two people

Ship tip

Get the balcony! We loved our balcony
