Review summary

I honestly didn't really love the itinerary. It was a great price which is the only reason we went but I won't go again. Each of the stops seemed like dives. The caribbean is much better. The ship wasn't bad but not a destination in and of itself.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
The area seems to small to hold the lines. They need to use smaller groups because its hard to fit the giant lines they have in the small space. They should call new groups when the line has died down, not when it stops going outside the building.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
I think for the price Carnival has some of the best food between the cruise lines. This ship had fantastic casual offerings. Some nights were great in the MDR, other nights were lackluster. The 2 entree limit in the MDR is a joke though.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Had a pretty packed schedule every day. Seemed like a good variety of things to do.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Some of the contracted performers were the best I've seen. Loved the piano player and some of the entertainers in the main atrium. The crew shows were awful though. Easily the worst I've seen on a cruise. The comedians were not great on this one either which is a bummer because historically on Carnival we've loved them.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Good service all around. I do wish they weren't cheaping out with room service though. I don't think 2 visits a day is unreasonable, just their way to cut costs.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Seems like too much is dedicated to pay to play. Too many extra dining options, the havanna area, trampoline, etc. They could have used a lot of that to make room for free options but that seems to an issue with the industry at large.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This is one of the 4 that are an inside inside hallway so it was quieter. That was nice, but some people seem to think its a private place to get frisky, we ran into that a couple times while heading to the room.

Ship tip

Try all the casual dining options. There is a good varitey and they are all good.

It's just as likely that Carnival ships are short staffed so having ½ as many stateroom attendants do as many rooms is not enough time for 2 a day. Personally, I feel that once is often more than enough. I know how to make my bed and don't need new towels every day

For us west coasters, it is a relatively cheap trip on a decent ship. Not great, but decent.
