Boarded with friends who had priority boarding and the experience was smooth. The Diamond/Platinum lounge was very comfortable and clean.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Service all throughout was excellent. Food on the ship was what you’d expect from Carnival. It was good but nothing impressive. I did more speciality dining most nights. Surprisingly and unfortunately, I did not go to the main dining room once during this voyage. My room buddy went one night and he did not enjoy one of his entrees because it had a lot of cartilage. Had similar issues at steakhouse with my steak. The speciality dining restaurants were great but it’s best to eat on an empty stomach—no alcohol, no snacks prior. Everything was clean and food was never cold.

Seafood Shack

5 out of 5

Clean and amazing service. Lobster rolls were fresh and delicious.

Lido Marketplace

4 out of 5

Only ate breakfast here. It was my go-to for the mornings. Food was excellent, service good. Unlike on ships from Galveston, I was never in a long and slow line here. Not sure if I just went at the “right time”, people’s mannerisms were different on this sailing, or if Lido was just better on Panorama. It was good overall.

Bonsai Sushi

5 out of 5

Ordered food to Alchemy a few nights in a row and the ladies were wonderful. The food was really good too. Edamame was amazing, along with the tempura roll, and chicken skewers.

Ji Ji Asian Kitchen

5 out of 5

Service was amazing, and the food excellent. This is a family sharing experience, you don’t get your own food plate. Very fun and delicious. This venue sits to the left of Cucina. Experienced a lot of rattling since we’re at the back of the ship.

Guy's Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse | Brewhouse

4 out of 5

Not a big fan of the dark vibe in this specific venue. It was still a cool place to hang out to eat and drink at the bar.

BlueIguana Cantina

5 out of 5

Shrimp tacos were amazing, along with breakfast burrito/arepas. Quick service, the staff was super kind and friendly.

Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse

4 out of 5

Service was good, my cut of meat was not all perfect with the cartilage. Everything was still phenomenal. Got to sit outside; food and friends never got cold.

Cucina del Capitano

5 out of 5

Amazing service and delicious food all throughout. Did not experience rattling despite being towards the back of the ship.

Bonsai Teppanyaki

5 out of 5

This was a fun and interesting experience. A LOT of food. The servers were very helpful and careful of allergies. Really great service.

Alchemy Bar

5 out of 5

Amazing service by Oscar, Amel, Dragana, and Kamin. Drinks were spectacular and they really took care of my group, always providing water and snacks.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Plenty of things to do on board.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Did not hear much music about the ship but the few chances I did, musicians sounded pretty good. Hosts of activities were fun and animated. Comedians were good except one of them was really bad. Went a little overboard on one joke, friends agreed.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship is still pretty brand new. Gorgeous all throughout. Staff kept the ship very clean. Did not see a lot of drinks and plates on floors or railings. Be careful for soot from the funnels on upper decks below the funnel. Unfortunately, it stains the entire place of it. Easy to navigate, better than Carnival Vista (in my opinion). Elevators are designed to prevent children from spamming buttons but it’s a learning curve for anyone using them the first time. Some overhead TVs had instructions but you’re apparently supposed to tap how many are riding on the floor number. Not easy to put in.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Massive room! This was my favorite interior cabin I’ve had. Never felt out of place with this one. It was also within inside the corridor, so we never had any children running up and down (there were complaints of children knocking on all doors of floor 8) Located at the back of ship so it was near all food areas. Really loved this cabin and felt like a second home.

Ship tip

Get to know the staff and explore the ship!

Ports of call

Mazatlan, Mexico

1 out of 5
Really unnecessary port. Parked right next to a cargo port. Not many good pictures to take if you don’t get off the ship. Preferably, don’t get off.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

4 out of 5
Ship is docked right in front of a mall, a Walmart, and a Sam’s Club. Interesting pictures to say the least. Really nice port. I like that it wasn’t a long pier to get to the actual city/town.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
Really nice port, the tender service is fast and easy. Went whale watching and it was great. Very beautiful area

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

Disembarkation

Pretty smooth, not chaotic. Elevators are slow.

Mazatlan was my favorite port on this cruise. The port itself left me wanting, but once outside, it was great

Appreciate your details. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.

Mazatlan is not a port for walking off on, you need to take the shuttle or a tour. Glad the rest of your trip was decent.
