Review summary

There is a reason Carnival is inexpensive. The food needs work, unlimited drink packages aren’t in line with other cruise lines, very expensive. On an At Sea Day, at dinner, 1/2 of the buffet was closed down. The dinning room menus weren’t something that appealed to us…. Or 2500 other people! Crew members don’t correct bad behaviour of 11-15 year olds chasing each other throwing drinks and ice in the Atrium Bar, in common areas. Saw this happen several times. If you want decent food, you are going to pay extra for it in the speciality dinning rooms. It’s as if they are forcing you to go to them. Get rid of formal night! Nobody dresses up! The rules are no tank tops, flip flops, in the dinning room and we saw it every night.

The people who work the dinning rooms and buffets are exemplary! The menus, food at the buffets need work. Even Guy’s burger place was poor. Blue iguana cross contaminated meat, chicken, and shrimp on tge sane cutting board making burritos.

Kids are great. On any cruise ship you’re going to get some bad behavior. Carnival isn’t for everyone. Hope your next cruise is great!

Yes, I see some kids, usually the 12 to 60+ range that are obnoxious. And some of the younger ones run a bit wild, but it all boils down to that horrible concept that is not popular today (and may get you jailed?), control your kids and teach them manners. . As far as food cross contamination, it is all cooked, the bacteria we worry about is dead dead dead (at least I did not see raw proteins there). Unless you have a chicken , beef or shrimp allergy then no problem, and I saw one person ask to have her burrito made without shrimp because she had allergies and they whipped out a clean surface and made her one that was 'clean'. . And unfortunately, the dress codes for the dining rooms are randomly enforced, I wonder if the crew are told to comment but do not insist?

I was on that cruise and yes, there were a crazy amount of kids. However, I never noticed them doing anything but having a good time. It was only the obnoxiously loud and inconsiderate adults I had a problem with. The food seemed better than most other lines I've been on lately. Buffets didn't look very crowded at dinner time.

Your comment on drink packages, Carnival is about 1/2 of Norwegian. I don’t know what to say about parents that won’t watch their kids. We see it on most Cruises. As for the food, somehow I always come back 10 lbs heavier. I can always find something worth eating each day.
