Overall I had a good time. Some things for Carnival to address: Communication goes a long way so use it especially when making passengers wait in long lines for embarkation and debarkation. The main dining room staff clearly needs more training. I use to love to go to the MDR for the food and service. But I stopped going after the poor and long service for dinner and sea day brunch.
Embarkation

There was absolutely not communication on the delay and the progress being made. We were standing in line for 2.5 hours. I understand things happen, but it would go a long way to communicate delays to the passengers, especially those with assistance needs.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The main dining room service was poor, the food was good. The two specialty restaurants we went to, the service was great and so was the food. The buffet service was ok and the food was ok.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
There should be signs in the spa asking guests to relax quietly. Each time I went in, I could not relax because of the loud conversations going on in the hot tub and loungers.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
I enjoyed all the onboard activities with the exception of the comedian. I loved dancing in the Havana Bar to the live music being played there. As for the comedian, I only went to one show and was turned off. Even for an 18+ show, the content was pretty distasteful and not funny. Advice to your comedians: Don't make fun of people wearing masks when clearly all our beloved crew members have to wear them!
Children's Programs
Didn't travel with kids.
Service and Staff

Everyone was friendly and the service was great with the exception of the MDR. Dinner and sea day brunch experiences were below par in the main dining room.
Ship Quality

All public spaces were clean. Our stateroom had not been vacuumed (it was obvious) when we arrived, but our steward fixed that on day 2.
Again, another long wait in line to get shuttled just 15 minutes over to LGB with no communication on the reason for the delay or how long it would be. I should have taken an Uber for the same price we paid Carnival.
We were on this cruise! We ate in the Vista dining room at the same table every night at 5:30 and had great service every night! As for embarkation, for some it was a disaster 😔
Appreciate your feedback. I, too, wish the communication at embarkation and debarkation was better. The embarkation situation can set the attitude for the whole cruise.
Thanks for your review. I would agree that of all the operations that it takes to operate a cruise the embarkation should be spot on as it begins the enjoyment.
Surprised that they had an issue with the MDR, but for those outside the building, it can get hairy since all too many show up early and jam the entry and the powers that be do not communicate outside.
