Review summary

Overall it was decent. Reconsider how people check in for their cruise. Figure out a better, more efficient, embarkation process. Have more people working the line to get people onto the ship quicker. Standing in line for well over TWO HOURS is unacceptable!

Embarkation

It was TERRIBLE! No organization whatsoever. Confusing to figure out where the end of the VERY long line was. We ended up being over TWO HOURS late to our SCHEDULED check in time. Why bother setting check in times when no one was there to direct people to the appropriate line for their check in time. We stood in line for well over 3 hours! Definitely made us decide to reconsider ever cruising with Carnival again!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was decent, did get better as the cruise continued. The specialty dining, especially the 555 steakhouse, was excellent! In the main dining room, we were at table 263. Our server, I Gede, and his assistant (unfortunately I didn’t get his name) were excellent! A member of our group has an egg allergy, I Gede was amazing making sure she only received food that was safe to eat. He remembered our names, what we liked to drink, and was just an all around excellent server!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We utilized the gym a couple times. Overall it had plenty of equipment based on the number of people using the gym. My only request would be to have more, and better, yoga mats. There were only about 4-5 of them, and there were more people looking to use them.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The performers were amazing in the 60’s musical show! The comedians were also excellent! The 2 piano players we listened to were also excellent!

Children's Programs

Don’t have any kids!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Overall, everyone we had an interaction with was extremely helpful and courteous. Our room steward, Ni Luh, was excellent! She remembered all the names in our group, did an excellent job of keeping our room clean and neat, has an amazing personality, extremely sweet! We had an issue with our shower drain. She immediately contacted someone to fix it, and it was taken care of quickly.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
There was always someone around cleaning and making sure the ship was in good shape for all passengers. Very impressed with how well the crew kept the ship looking good.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
For what we chose, the room was decent size. There was enough storage for all of our items. Other than the issue I mentioned above with the shower drain, we were satisfied with our accommodations

Ship tip

Get there early to check in. If your check in time is coming up and there’s a long line, find someone to assist you to make sure you check in within your time frame.

Disembarkation

Much better experience getting off the ship than getting on. There were plenty of people directing us where to go, unlike checkin in. Much more organized. We were off the ship rather quickly.

Embarkation was horrible for us too! Not a good way to start a cruise.
