Review summary

This was a very interesting cruise to say the least. We got it cut short by a day which I feel had a huge effect on my overall enjoyment. This cruise was in beginning of March and 4 out of 6 days were cold. This may have to due with switching the order of the ports and going to PV first and skipping Mazatlan. Loved both ports and would definitely recommend. Staff was great and very friendly overall. Service and overall food quality has gone way downhill in the MDR. Most nights my water was empty and they forgot something on my order. The food size seems smaller and they cut things out like limes on the shrimp cocktail. Food was mostly served lukewarm. Still love Carnival and had an amazing time. Staff was great, entertainment was great, ship was great. We got to see quite a few whales which is spectacular. Would recommend this ship and cruise but would proably be more enjoyable in the late spring or summer.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Our first day was scrapped due to potential coronavirus issues. Carnival was slow with updates(not necessarily their fault). We didn't get word about being reimbursed for dinners and hotels until 8pm after I threw away our receipt. Actual embarkation was fast and very easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Guys, blue iguana, pizza were all great as always. Buffet was hit or miss but overall good. MDR has gone way downhill. Staff was friendly but orders missing items most nights, water glasses empty, food lukewarm.

Onboard Activities

A little something for everyone.

Entertainment

Children's Programs

One of Carnival's best offerings. Can't be beat.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Friendly, engaged, and seem genuinely happy to take care of you.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Brand new ship everything was new and shiny. I like the design but understand why people might not care for it.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Stayed in family harbor cabin with ocean view. If you have younger children the family lounge is a life saver for breakfast.

Ship tip

Don't put off trying out anything you are interested in. 7 days goes fast and there is so much to see and do.

Ports of call

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

They are building a nice new port with lots of shops. Will be nice when done. Tons of different activities to do. Malecon was a nice walk. Streets surrounding it have lots of amazing features. Very pretty walk.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Lot's of shopping and restaurants. We did a pirate ship tour which was awesome. The water is cold in March so be warned! Also a great place to see whales.
