Review summary

Overall, we enjoyed this cruise. I just wished it had not been so cold but any vacation is what you make it. If I can deal with the 3 hour time difference, I just know next time wait until closer to spring to do this itinerary.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and efficient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Ate at the steakhouse twice. The first night was better than the second time. We had my time dining which we prefer. App made it so easy to check in and our table was ready in 10-15 minutes each time. Service in main dining varied depending on who you got. We had the good and the bad. We never ate at the buffet. The Italian place was a miss, but Guy’s burger and blue iguana was good. Pizza at midnight was always a plus.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
It was too cold for me this time to spend much time on deck. However I did suck it up and went down the slides that was fun. I did not do the bikes or rope course since I had done them on Horizon. Activities were the same as any other cruise. Emma the cruise director did make it more enjoyable though.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were ok. You would need to get to shows early to get a decent seat. Some of the seats are blocked.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Java Joe always called me and my husband by name and knew what we wanted each day.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Just like Horizon so for me it was easy to navigate. They were always cleaning or painting. People need to learn how to use elevators. They explained how to use, but people would not push button for each person getting on and the elevator would stop being full.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved the second bath area.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We took a water taxi to Medona Beach to walk along beach. Stopped for a massage with some drinks. Starbucks was not the same.

Mazatlan, Mexico

4 out of 5
Segway tour and guacamole on beach. This tour took you down streets that I would have never done. At no time did I feel uneasy.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

4 out of 5
We did the Rhythms of the Night which was great just cold coming back but the crew did keep you entertained.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Again quick and efficient. They started with deck one which was a first.
