This cruise was decent overall. I really enjoyed our ports. The ship was very rocky all 3 of our sea days, I'm un sure if it is always like that in the Pacific since it was my first time doing that side. It was also pretty chilly on all of our sea days you needed a jacket to be outside which I was not expecting since it said the temperature was in the 70s. This itinerary is definitely at the bottom of the list to do again but we made it fun.
Embarkation

We boarded around 2:30 so it was very fast with no lines and straight to our cabin we went!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Buffet was pretty much the same for breakfast and dinner. Lunch had a little variation. Guy's burger and bbq were good and pizza was standard. Cucina was excellent. The meal was so good I couldn't leave room for dessert.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Enjoyed the pool, hot tub, water slides, and mini golf.
Entertainment

The magic show we went to was so much fun. We had previously seen the magician on the Magic at dinner and he is very talented. We only saw one show, Soulbound, and the performers were excellent. The love and marriage show and quest were so much fun as well.

Ship Quality
5 out of 5
You could tell this was a new ship as it was very clean. The decor of the ship was very nice and modern and simple.
Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was like all the other balconies we have had on Carnival.
Ship tip
Take time to explore the whole ship and see everything she has to offer.
When we got off the water shuttle we explored the port area shops and saw some sea lions before taking out excursion. We did the Pub Crawl and Beach excursion through Carnival. The excursion overall was fun but has a little room for improvements. First we got onto our shuttle bus to head to the first bar, Happy Endings, which was super fun and decorated with dollar bills. Then we walked to the next bar and made a detour through Cabo Wabo but only walked through. The next bar we went to was just a chill little spot and my least favorite because it didnt have the fun Mexican vibe I was expecting. Then we walked back to a large store that had trinkets and tequila for a tequila tasting. The tequila was good and it was nice that we had a little bit of time to shop. We should have stopped here second though because it was right next door to the first bar. After that we walked to the 4th stop Squid Roe. That bar had a very nice atmosphere with nice music and funny signs and decor. After that we got on our shuttle and drove to the beach. The drinks and food on the beach were good. We also got to see a couple do a small fire show which was very cool. I wish we wouldn't have had to walk everywhere because it was definitely a buzzkill to drink one or 2 drinks and then walk around. Plus there were a lot of vendors asking you to come to their shop or buy different items but you couldn't because you were doing an excursion. But other than that it was a great time.
This was my favorite port of the cruise! We got off the ship and found a local guide and he gave us a 4-5 hour tour for $20 pp. We drove through the boardwalk area which was beautiful with the cobblestone streets and murals painted all over the place. We stopped at a little place in the forest where he showed us several different fruit trees and a beautiful river, then we went to a free tequila tasting where we got to sample at least 10 different kinds of tequila. After that we went to the beach for about 2 hours and had some delicious food and got to relax. Our driver was also nice enough to wait for us at walmart while we bought some cheap souvenirs.
Since we didn't book a carnival excursion for this port we decided to just stay in the port area since this port seems to be pretty unsafe. The shopping there was good. Found some cute souvenirs at a good price. You did have to take an open air shuttle to the port because you dock at a shipping container port but it was cool to be able to see them up close.
We stayed the night before the cruise at The Maya Hotel which was beautiful. We enjoyed some time at the Pike and it was a great way to start our vacation.
Thank you for the pictures, my family will be a few cabins down the hall from the one you had. It's nice to see pictures of the room and read about your port experiences.
Thank you for the awesome details of each port. It's very helpful, as our cruise is in 292 days (WOO HOO!) and we need to decide how to spend our time at each port. Thanks for your review!
