Review summary

Excellent experience from beginning to end. Family cruise, us, 2 boys and wives, 3 grandchildren. Looked forward to each day, sad at the end, having to depart. But already have a carrot out front of us...booked on the Mardi Gras January 2021 with the family. Seeing and watching the excite of grandkids and their parents the best ever...and fun time together ❤️❤️

Perfect, fast, no lines (platinum) took 15 minutes from car unload to board ship!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We are platinum on carnival, dining room food meats delicious, big improvement over past cruises. Mr A and Amed best maitre d’s we’ve had!. Room service food good, didn’t like the charges for some foods, especially after 10 pm. Lido, same food ok.

Entertainment

Show featuring Electronic Violins was excellent, only problem, volume on speaker systems too loud, heard this from several others too. The violin performance was fantastic in the Atrium. Guitarist ok

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room steward was excellent, always there, but never visible. The waiters in dining room were the best ever! Table 584 with Danny was our best experiences in all our cruises. He was unbelievable. Had 3 birthdays in 7 days....he was so awesome. Maitre d Mr A and ahmed were so attentive and friendly every night. Got us this same table each night, and we were dine your own time! They really went the extra mile.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The design and layout were very good. For such a large ship, it had many sitting areas all with different themes etc, got away from that HUGE feeling...Lido layout superb! Not the traditional massive layout. Only MAJOR problem restrooms are not clearly marked, no overheads...panicked several times...for emergencies! Lol...being a new ship...spotless!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Need a fully excessable suite, and was told biggest room on the ship...and it was, unbelievably large, bathroom too with double sinks.

Ship tip

Plan your trip and Ad-ones, excursion etc well ahead of cruise date..saves a few $$ and adds to the future excitement.Saves the big bill shock at end!

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

Expensive to park care one week. $160 for 7 days and going up soon when new Garcia gets done. Best to get parking elsewhere, some hotels offer long term parking for a small fee, the Uber or Lyft to port.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Thanks for sharing and thanks for the tips. I too try to plan and pay for as much as possible prior to sailing to eliminate the final bill shock. I'm happy you had such a good vacation.
