Embarkation

4 out of 5
Line for Bag drop off was slow and chaotic, not enough Porters to assist. Once inside it was much smoother

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Bar Service, especially in the Casino was slow to non-existent. Very short staffed. Main Dining room decor was the ugliest I have ever seen. Lots of lights not working. Dining Room Service and meals were excellent to above average. Seafood Bar (Additional Charge) was horrendous, very undermanned, and slow. 40 minutes to place an order. Check app if you want clam chowder, but most items not on app. Fried items were cold and greasy. Nick & Noras Steak House was the Best I have been too on any Ship. Excellent Service!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pools and Hot Tubs were too cold for me; however the covered pool area was much more comfortable. All areas were kept exceptionally clean

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I gave this a 4 due to great Musicians and DJ's. The Comedians would starve if not on the cruise and were terrible with the exception of the last one. There were a couple of Stage Shows but they were mediocre at best. The Ship's announcer was better than the Comedians. The Cruise Director Lia, did an excellent Job with Family Feud and Deal or No Deal, but they come at a cost

Children's Programs

Did not have kids onboard. However, Carnival needs to crack down on Parents and Kids who are out of control, running down the passageways late at night. Tying up the elevators and making life unpleasant for the rest of the Guest on board. The absolute worst was the basketball courts right above the Spa. Save your money as there is no relaxation at the Spa. Very poor design.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was the saving grace and worked very hard to keep the ship very clean, all areas were excellent. Staff was very Professional, friendly and accommodating despite the Vessel being undermanned as mentioned above. Supervision to fix issues with the waiters in the Casino, shows and bar areas as well as the buffet area is desperately needed to pitch in or get additional help.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I liked the Pride much better for layout and design. The decor on the Miracle was hideous especially in the main dining room. Ship was very clean; crew did an Outstanding Job!

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Room was very clean. Cabinetry needs attention on drawers and doors that would not close properly. Bedding was great, but mattress are tired and need to be replaced. Balcony was cleaned three times during 10 day cruise, seemed excessive.

Ship tip

Nick and Noras Steakhouse is worth every penny.

Ports of call

San Francisco, California

Flew in the day before embarkation and enjoyed the great dining in the Fishermans wharf area. Be careful with debarkation as ship does not arrive until 8:00 am. Loved our Scottish Bus Driver who got us to SFO International Terminal on time. However, many missed their flights that they had booked early. Recommend departure noon or later.

Juneau, Alaska

it was ok, had to be brought in by tender, slow and ships coxswains need better training. Booked my excursion via United for Whale Watching and had an excellent show of Humpback Whales Bubble Feeding. Overall time in Port was too short. Too many Cruise ships in port at once.

Haines, Alaska

Our Tour through United was good. Town is too small with very little to do once tour is complete. Way too much time in Port with nowhere to go and little shopping. Tours are very basic.

Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska

5 out of 5
This is a must that can only be booked through the ship. Pricey but worth every penny. We encountered a pod of 12 Orcas, a Black Bear, numerous seals and eagles. We were able to get within 100 yards of the Glacier.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
My favorite! Tendered in due to six ships in port at once. I give Carnival credit; Vessel was moved to a pier halfway through the visit, Excellent tour via the vessel, lots of great shopping. Best stop!!

Prince Rupert, British Columbia

3 out of 5
A quaint stop that is required. Great for a walk and a beer or lunch.

Disembarkation

Slow on luggage despite mooring early. Assigned group 9 although luggage tags were for 6. Vessel booked Bus Driver was great getting us to International Terminal at SFO with time to spare.
