Review summary

Had a great time. Adam is a great cruise director, and the entertainment was wonderful.

Embarkation is easy and fairly quick. Our check-in time was noon, and we were on the ship by 12:15.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All the food was good, and a good variety to choose from.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
we attended a welcome aboard show with Adam, and I won an internet package and a Build-a-Bear. Later in the week we played "Celebrity Heads" with Adam, and we both won a trophy. We had a wonderful time.

5 out of 5
we only attended one show, the "80's Pop to the Max" and loved it.

Children's Programs

no kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We rarely saw our room steward, but he did a good job keeping the ice bucket filled, and the room clean.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was clean, and constantly being cleaned.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Carnival's balcony rooms are all the same layout, and we like that. This time we had an extended balcony, and that was nice to have some extra room out there.

Ship tip

Gatsby's Garden is a nice quiet getaway place with very little traffic. The Serenity Deck is also a comfortable place to relax and read.

Ports of call

San Diego, California

5 out of 5
I used to live in San Diego, and my daughter still does. We spent 3 days with her before our cruise. San Diego is always 5 stars with me.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
This was our second visit to Cabo. We did a whale watching excursion, and it was wonderful. Also stopped in at Karlito's Cantina at the marina. The managers there are really great. We love Cabo!

Ensenada, Mexico

4 out of 5
we didn't do an excursion, just walked around downtown for a while and bought a souvenir.

We thought by doing self-assist we would be able to get off faster, but they let us go by deck number, and since we were on Deck 8, we were practically last to get off. Not a big problem because our flight home wasn't until evening, but my daughter had to wait quite a while for us.
