Review summary

Miracle is an older modest sized ship and We enjoy this class. It’s relaxing and fun for us and our 5 and 2 year old. Only missing waterworks, guys burger and blue iguana (all will be included after upcoming drydock) If you’re a family with older kids or cruisers looking for more fun, activities and amenities, book with a bigger ship such as the vista class.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Quick and easy from San Diego port. Boarding time was 12-1230. We arrived 1230, waited in a short line and boarded right away.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Nick And Noras is a must. Husband ordered Ny strip and I had the surf and turf. Our kids were at Camp Ocean and we had a wonderful date night. MDR has pretty good dishes and the buffet was alright, same as any carnival buffets.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Took off 2 stars. This ship is missing waterworks so we cant wait until after dry dock for our Alaska trip this summer. Kids loved the towel animal show. We usually attend the dr Seuss parade story time and breakfast but the kids kept asking for camp ocean. So we obliged! Pools were nice and jacuzzi was packed with adults and kids.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Bands/ Performers at the atrium and alchemy bar are very talented and entertaining. Take sometime to relax in those areas to enjoy the entertainment. DJ at the pool was fun and played music from different genres. Kept the crowd happy and relaxed.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Kids (5 &2) loved camp ocean. Initially I was concerned as to how small the space was but they played fun games and engaged all the kids. One time I saw a little girl who sat in the corner and didn’t want to be there. I was happy to see one of the staff members engage her and bring her to the group. They had tons of arts and crafts to bring back to their cabin. My 5 year old would call camp ocean his “school on the ship”.

Video Arcade

3 out of 5

Great arcade. Very disappointing that you can only access this area through steep staircase. Anyone disable wont be able to enjoy the arcade or C02 for teens.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room stewards were really nice and provided great customer service. Taking off one star bc the quality of their work was lacking. I’m truly not picky about that but compared to our other cruises our room was not cleaned very well. Their towels and sheets are permanently stained and they should dispose of those instead of providing them to guests. Carpet was never vacuumed for our 1 week trip.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship itself was always kept clean. Props to those who had to clean up after guests would vomit in public after coming back from port.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Favorite room of all time. Tons of space without the price tag of a suite. Marble or stone bathrooms and Huge balcony. This is the only premium balcony cabin that accepted 4 guests. If it’s open jump on it!

Ship tip

Modest sized ship that can be fun and relaxing as you’d like. If you like quiet hang out at serenity deck in the mornings. Not a mega ship so don’t expect all the activities or amenities that other ships have such as vista class. If you need more to do, book with a bigger class ship.

Ports of call

San Diego, California

If you’re not from SoCal, take time to check out Gaslamp District where all the restaurants and fun bars are. There’s also Coronado beach which is on the other side of the bay. Here you’ll feel like you’re on a separate island with small beaches, restaurants and boutique shops. We usually rent a 4 person bike for 30 min ($15-20) and ride around the beach area. If you have money to spend check out San Diego Zoo, Animal Safari, Legoland in Carlsbad or Seaworld. Enjoy! SD has the best weather.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
Scheduled at Cabo for 2 days. We booked a room at Marina Fiesta for $84. This gave us the chance to enjoy their resort for 2 days in a row and have a room in case we needed it for the baby. We decided to go back to the ship overnight and return the next day. They have a water playground and right next door to the luxury mall. About a 1 mile walk from tender port to Marina fiesta. Or you can a taxi for about $2 per person. Heard great things about Melia day passes as well. Approx $45 per adult. I believe children are free, unsure of age.

Ensenada, Mexico

5 out of 5
I was never really a big fan of Ensenada until we discovered the Marina area just outside the port. They make it very kid friendly with a huge colorful playground, motorized ride-on animals and a mini motorized train ride. Continue walking the marina and you’ll see restaurants and souviner shops. Many locals and their families enjoy this area as well. We would always take a shuttle to the downtown area and back to port so we missed this area. Heard great things about boufadora as well.

Disembarkation

If you want to get off ship early and your bags are being delivered to port, make sure you get your luggage tags early. We waited until the later evening and we were group 15 out of 20. We left our room at 830a and waited at horatios until our call time which was 930a. Horatios gets crowded so get there earlier if you want a table. Wait was Not bad, we had breakfast and coffee and next thing we new we were being called to exit. At port line is long to get through customs but they try to move it quickly.
