Review summary

A great opportunity to experience popular stops in the Mexican Riviera (West Coast of Mexico).

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Experienced the most efficient embarkation process we have ever had.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Really enjoyed Nick & Nora's Steak House. They made us feel very special as we celebrated our Wedding Anniversary. Buffets were Ok. Visited the Oriental Stir Fry buffet many times. Very Good. Nice to have 24 Hour pizza available.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Check "Fun Times" publication. There is always something to do. Use the Carnival Hub App on your phone to get online access while on-board.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Some shows were the same as we have seen in the past, only different performers. Shows were good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Crew and Staff were very pleasant and always helpful.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
A little older ship, but that is what we selected so that is what we got. Could use some upgrades to bring in some newer features like Red Frog Bar, Blue Iguana Bar, Guy Fieri's, Seaside Theatre,......

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Didn't really spend much time in cabin. Sleeping was quiet and comfortable. Extended Deck was a plus.

Ship tip

Take advantage of the gym, and the Hot Tub in the Spa area. It is open to the public, but this is not advertised.

Ports of call

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
Great Shopping right across the street from the Port. A big Mall, Sam's Club, WalMart. A little bit of a walk to get there. Look for a crossing across the busy road where police are directing traffic. Much safer here.

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

5 out of 5
Stayed our pre-cruise evening on The Queen Mary. A must do at least once just to see the grandeur and class of the old cruise ships. Take advantage of the Free "Passport" bus service which does a continuous circle loop from the Queen Mary into downtown Long Beach.

Mazatlan, Mexico

4 out of 5
Port is an Industrial Port. Not too close to shopping, venues, and activities. Excursion or Cab probably recommended. Deer Island excursion was very enjoyable.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

4 out of 5
Land's End rock formations very beautiful. Found vendors quite forceful in port.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Diembarktion was quick, but our bags were Priority 1, and they were placed the furthest distance away from the exit. Lower priority bags were closest to the exit. Backwards in my mind.

The ship will be getting some upgrades in February and it should have most of what you asked for.
