Review summary

We had a some great adventures on this trip. We met many couples full of wisdom and flare. In the beginning we wished there were more people on the boat our age but in the end we still had a great time. Everyone was so friendly to us and this cruise was very diffrent experience compared to our other trips. conversations and friendship were much more meaningful. It was not just about partying and drinking. This is a very memorable trip and thank you to everyone who made it that way.

Embarkation

considering the hubby and I were not platinum or Diamond member and most were on this trip, It went very well quick and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Was not the best food/ variation compared to prior cruises.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pools were good but they could have been bigger, The Hot tubs were great temperature but needs some tlc. We did not use the slide or the fitness center. gulf was good fun but wind takes the ball where it wants.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The Pianist Gregg was amazing. He also did a great job by taking request from the audience. I thought it was great that carnival adjusted their stage shows and 50's night for the age group that was on board. The Frankenstein club was dull not from lack of music but from lack of people attending. I think it was due to the age group on the board but it was still fun. One person who always made Frankenstein club fun was Jyoti bar waitress from India with her smile and humor.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff from the Bacchus dining Area were amazing. We looked forward to Brunch and Dinner everyday with Zainuddin headwaiter from Indonesia , Natnicha waitress from Thailand, and Zhaku asst waiter from Albania. This is the best wait staff we have encountered on all of our travels. As the days passed they became more like family then friends. We enjoyed all the dancing and laughs with them. We also enjoyed the friendliness of Tanusree junior hostess from India, Jenny hostess from Vietnam, and Nena junior hostess from Serbia, Who always greeted us with a smile.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship needs some repairs as it is an older ship. The staff was amazing with the cleanliness

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I kadek our stateroom steward from indonesia was amazing and went above and beyond for us. Our room was spotless, I loved loved my towel animals.

Ship tip

Do not expect all the bedazzle and fireworks as the ship is one of the older ones in the fleet.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida Did not visit port

Did not arrive early enough to sight see

Cartagena, Colombia

AMAZING! Even though it poured on the first night during our Private excursion and some people did not enjoy it, the hubby and I had a blast. As for the second day we left the ship at 6am and explored the city til noon. The locals were very friendly and helpful with locations of memorable sites. As for the port there is an area where you can see emerald in their raw stage in the cave and also a sanctuary for animals (tons birds, tortoise, ant eater, & monkies) and its all FREE, FREE

Panama Canal Transit

This is a one in a lifetime experience. No youtube video can ever amount to this experience.

Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala

We took the spiritual ceremony excursion. We loved the ceremony, the food , and the architecture. I gave this a star because the excursion was misleading. it said light walking which was not true we walked for about 2miles. This would have been ok for the hubby but some of our group had difficulty getting around and one of group member even had a can. The tour guide did not even try to slow down for them. As the sales people in the square and the streets they were relentless and did not take no for an answer. They also WAY over charged for items (simple scarf $60 american dollars). There is nothing near the port just some huts with merchandise. Everything is about 1 1/2 hours away from the port so you need an excursion. We have no desire to come back to this port again.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We did an all inclusive resort carnival excursion to breathless resort. We had an amazing time in the infinity pool. The beach undertow was a little rough for me but the hubby loved the beach. As for the staff they were amazing. We did not get a chance to shop due to lack of time which was a bummer but in all it was great.

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

5 out of 5
We did not have an excursion but we went sight seeing to santa monica pier which was beautiful.

Disembarkation

We were not in a hurry and were one of the last ones to diembark the ship. It was smooth and stressless
