Review summary

This was our first Carnival cruise, but our 3rd cruise together and my 7th cruise in general. If you are expecting it to be like RCL or Celebrity - it's not - but that was ok with us. This ship seemed to have less employees on the ship - so don't expected to be waited on hand and foot. The food was ok, the variety of food selections were not as abundant as the other ships I've been on. The employees were nice and all in all our experience was good. The seas kicked up when the ship tried to go to Grand Cayman, so we were not allowed into port. This high seas issue was also noted on the ship, as some people felt the sway of the ship more than others. The lack of port also caused what seemed to be a huge overcrowding in the lunch area on the ship. It was hard to find a place to sit down at times. We did have some really super nice employees though. The entire bar at Alchemy was awesome, as was the Sports bar bartenders. I also thought we had the nicest stateroom attendant. If you are looking for a first time cruise experience, this might not be it, but it's definitely an option if you need a decent quick getaway for a week!

They needed more people at the main level telling people where to go and where to put their bags, as it was an issue with people arriving and leaving. We were never told about our bags, so we ended up making two trips with luggage to get it to the right place.

Food in the main dining room was ok. The steakhouse was definitely the best of the food options. The drinks were great!

Fitness center had broken machines, classes filled very easily.

We went to almost all comedy shows, "Papi" was great at crowd control. :-)

Service and Staff

Everyone was ok and did what they needed to do to do their job. Only ones that we encountered that went above and beyond were the Alchemy Bartenders, Stateroom attendant Lismana, Sky bar bartender Luis, and the entertainment director Edgar "Papi". Papi has that look and feel for a future Cruise Director. They were all wonderful.

Very comfortable, slightly outdated but kept well. Our stateroom attendant Lismana was great!

Ship tip

It's a longer thinner boat meant for the panama canal - so expect it to rock more so than other shipe

Visited a park with Monkeys and other animals. The monkeys were very inquisitive and jumped directly on you. Definitely fun!

The Miracle was my 1st cruise. I really enjoyed my time on it. But that was a few yrs back so different crew.

Sorry you missed the port of call, but glad you are safe. Carnival is more about “fun” and less about “pampered”. Glad you enjoyed it. I am so happy that there is such a variety of cruise lines for us to choose whatever it is we are looking for in our adventure. Thanks for your review. I enjoyed reading it.
