Review summary

Looked forward to this cruise for 2 years it was my 77th birthday and I couldnt be more unhappy. I realize there was the hurricane coming but to be on the water for 3 days before a port we could have stayed in Tampa. As for the food really could be better. Service excellent except for the main dinning room. My co-workers all wanted to know how I liked it, dont thing any of them will be doing any booking with Carnival. Sorry. Cozumal was the port we wanted to see.

It’s ship in open water trying to beat a hurricane. The captain’s #1 priority to you and the other passengers is to keep you safe. If that means sailing away or around a hurricane, they will. Ships do miss ports. Have had it happen to me and while it isn’t fun, I understand it. Hypothetically, if you had flown to Mexico Beach for your much anticipated 77th birthday celebration, you’d be in the same boat (pun intended) due to a hurricane. The food not being good or being treated like ‘cattle’ is another story. I’ve had great meals and I’ve had not so great meals with good and less than stellar service. But, I can honestly say that I’ve never gone hungry on a cruise. You can always find something to eat somewhere.

We be 77 as well. We cruise to cruise and like the sea days and book all months. You might be better off just flying to a port and not wasting time to get there.

Need to do your research it is hurricane season !! If you didn't like the buffet plenty of other choices you would hardly starve !!! Your safety is any ships priority so can not blame anyone but yourself ... how where you made to be like second class citizen? Maybe had something to do with your attitude towards the cruise and staff ? Sorry but 22 cruise never had a bad one yet ....Maybe the queen Mary is more your style ?

It's the chance you take cruising at this time of year. I had an amazing experience on the Miracle. I went in beginning of September knowing we could have bad weather, but it's all in what you make of it. Carnival hasn't let me down. Going on another cruise in April! Can't wait.

Don't book in hurricane season. Hardly carnivals fault.
