Review summary

Our cruise was good but because we didn’t book through Carnival we didn’t get our charges for the missed port until we got home and then had to call and wait for our refund for our excursion. Our son had his cruise totally paid for in July and changed jobs so couldn’t take to cruise in Oct. so he was going to give his paid reservation to another couple and was told he couldn’t do that so he lost his money . I called and they told me also that he couldn’t give his reservation to the other couple. (What A Rip Off) so he got nothing back . They cancelled his reservation and said the other couple could get his room but they had to pay the full price of the cruise. This is our 6th and last cruise. I know you don’t care but this should be illegal.

Took a tour, but had to walk a long way to get to the tour. The tour was good but it was too far to walk to get to the tour vehicle. They should be allowed to come to the dock to pick up people seduced for a tour.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Took the helicopter tour. It was great

Disembarkation

They have one elevator to disembark. They made anyone with a cane wait in line and people carrying off their luggage with wheels had to use the same elevator. If they are going to make you take the elevator then they should have more then one elevator.

Its all about timing! If you book aways out you can work with them but the closer you get to the sail date they keep your money if you cancel

That is why we always book with the cruise company we are sailing with. Too many hoops to jump through with a secondary independent company. A good lesson learned for next time.

Check with the credit card company. Most offer a travel insurance policy as a card benefit which possibly could include a job change. We had to cancel a cruise recently and filed a claim for a refund of all no refundable charges. It was some legwork to get it all together. By worth it.

Exactly what I was thinking ...we had back to back cruises booked three internal flights accommodation and a flight from Australia booked and could not make it ...got a doctors certificate and paper work and received a full refund if you can't afford insurance well you can't expect a refund ... also your details are submitted with your booking to homeland security as was mentioned so it's not as easy as giving your booking to someone else there is a lot more involved... It's a shame that something of your own doing is stopping you from cruising... but hay your loss ... bye bye !!!!!

Homeland security does make it illegal, to exchange reservations.

That's what insurance is for I think.

He would have gotten a refund if he had purchased insurance.

If your last sentence was directed at Carnival they might never see it. Also if your son had purchased insurance he probably would get something back depending on the policy. If insurance was not paid, consider it an expensive lesson on being a penny pincher.
