Review summary

This was a winter vacation week and the boat was very full. We were two adults and our sons 20 and 27.  There were a lot of young children, but not a lot of 18-27 year olds for my two sons.  They told us that no one attended the "singles" meetings which is unusual for Carnival.  We took Carnival specifically for a younger "fun" boat.  During vacation period, it felt more like a Disney cruise.

There was really not enough staff to keep up with the number of guests.  The staff was very nice and could not have worked any harder.  You see them at 7am breakfast and serving dinner at 10pm.

The food was decent. Nothing to get excited about, nothing to really get upset about.  The upgraded steakhouse, Nick & Noras was very good. Make your reservation as soon as you can.  Lots of nights were sold out.

Again, on a non-holiday, this probably is not a factor.

Also, the tours we wanted were sold out very quickly and we panicked and booked replacements.  We would have been fine on our own at the dock arranging for less expensive tours of the same places.

The kayak/snorkel tour in Cabo was awful--they wouldn't let us do anything.  We just got in line with kayaks like 2 year olds.  Same with snorkel. They wouldn't let us go where the fish were.  It should have said that it was only for first timers.

The horseback ride in Cabo was nice and was handled well, but I am a beginner horseback rider and it was labeled for beginners.

The cruise has a lot of days at sea, and the weather isn't great during several sea days.  I don't think there was enough going on to keep us busy.

We noticed a lot more people gambling than we expected, so I think they deliberately kept activities at a minimum to encourage gambling.

One of the best activities was the late night comedy shows.  There were some very good comedians--Merle is terrific.

The trivia in the Red Frog was also good.

The sports bar staff was also nice.

It was fine. Nothing special. Our cabin steward was great.

Las Caletas trip is very relaxing when it isn't overbooked. Don't do it during a holiday, it is too crowded and defeats the purpose of a relaxing day.

mcabrera... glad I could assist. Just proves that not only can a good travel agent answer your questions...a really good travel agent like myself will also save you money on all your cruises. Let me know if you have additional questions @phippstrips@nc.rr.com.

Thank you Steve, this is the exact information I was looking for.

mcabrera....I can answer that for you. The dress code is whatever the dress code is for that night of the cruise. So if it is elegant night in the Main Dining Room then it would apply that night in the Steak House. But I'm assuming you are asking if you have to dress up just to go... that answer would be as long as you are the type that would typically dress nice for dinner then just go the same way you would for the MDR.

Hello family, may I ask what the dress code is for Nick and Nora steakhouse is.
