Mexican Riviera Cruise

Sail Date: May 23, 2015

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Suite

Improved food and service at all levels.  Very pleased overall.  Dining experience in main dining room was very good.  Especially liked being able to order meals like filet and lobster for $20.00.  Well worth the money for a couple of special meals without having to go to the specialty restaurant for a $35.00 charge per person.

Ship Quality
For an older ship; very well maintained.
Food and Dining
Hard to believe I'm saying this about a Carnival cruise, because we have been disappointed in the past, but the food and dining was very much improved.
Service and Staff
Very pleased with cabin service and meal service; we chose anytime dining for dinner, but requested the same waiters every night. It really was great service.
Good, but not great.
Children's Programs
Can't really comment since we didn't have a young child in any programs; but I'm sure they had fun and were well taken care of based on past experience.
Onboard Activities
Same as always; nothing seems to change to much.
Destinations and Excursions
Beautiful places to visit and great excursions to choose from. Just need to get away from all the merchants trying to sell you something you don't want or need as quickly as possible. Got a little tired of saying, "No thank you."
Cabin / Stateroom
Cabin was fine; a little dated. The bed was worn out; kind of sagging in the middle and woke up each day with a sore back. Small T.V. not in a great viewing position and the remote was almost useless. I would expect for for a suite.
Long Beach (Los Angeles), California
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Held a 3 month old lion cub for a good cause donation $25. Wow!
Mazatlan, Mexico
ATV's were awesome.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Go early to the gym if you work out. Fitness area opens at 6:00 a.m. and it's not that big.
