Review summary

I have been on 5 other cruises and this one was absolutely horrible. The food was terrible and at times not edible. It is bad when you lose weight on a cruise ship. Never again will I sail on Carnival.

Embarkation

Embarkation in Norfolk was super easy. No lines. Our appointment time was set for 11:30 and we were on the ship by noon.

Food and Dining

We ate in the main dining room on the first formal evening. I had the my time dining and the wait was an hour. I request to not sit with others and that request was not fulfilled as we were sitting with 4 others. Bread was brought to us at the end of the meal. We never ate in a specialty restaurant. Buffet food was absolutely horrible. My husband ended up eating salad most nights because the food was not served hot. Some hot foods were cold and some cold foods were warm. The pizza was terrible and guys burgers were ok. Lines everywhere. Nobody behind buffet lines to rotate food or serve something that was in the back. Deli BLT was ok, but no matter how many times I would say no mayo, I got mayo. The last night on-board I ended up extremely ill from the food. As for the free beverages...water was not drinkable, juice was from concentrate and not diluted. I had the bubbles package and would end up sucking on ice in order to prevent dehydration.

The best show we saw was Jonathon Tempinelli. He was absolutely wonderful. The comedy shows were not that good. Location was extremely crowded, had to arrive 45 min early to get a seat.

Service and Staff

All the staff acted as if they were fired. Not friendly and at times rude. Our room steward was doing a good job but out of 8 days I saw him once.

I was on that cruise. My experience was different than yours . Steak house was awesome, dining room food was good to excellent. Didn’t do Guys or buffet except for a couple salads and desserts. Lido was crowded as usual. Enjoyed the comedy show but we did get there early. Sorry you didn’t have as good of an experience. 🙁

We were on the Magic in May and our experience was nothing like what was described in this review. The food and service were both very good. The deli got our sandwich requests correct every time. We were always able to get a table for two with My Time dining.

Interesting. We have never been seated where we didn’t want to be, nor with people we didn’t know. Water was terrible but ice was okay? How is that possible? When you go to the deli and request a sandwich, they make it in front of you, how did you end up with mayo while watching them make it? What cruise line we’re your other cruises?
