Review summary

This was our first cruise and I was hoping it would be so awesome but it was really just ok. I don't know if I'll do another cruise but if I do it WON'T be on Carnival. So disappointed.

Embarkation

The lines are so long!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining room was very good. The Lido deck buffet was ok. The food was just ok, nothing fancy but the crowds were awful. The lines were so long that you food was cold by the time you got to a table.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There were a lot of activities but again the crowds keep you from doing some of them.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

We did an excursion that was late starting so we weren't able to do all the things we paid for, the bus was over full and broken, the whole thing was awful.

We love Carnival and Magic is our favorite ship! Have taken her the last two times and going on her again November 3rd! Cruising is at an all time high so I feel we can expect larger crowds from here on in. Just more fun with more people!

We sailed on the Magic in November and had a great time. We are sailing again in a week and a half on the Magic. We had no issues and we mostly sail with Carnival. It's the line of choice for my teenagers.

Yet another complaint about the crowds on a ship. It's so easy to look up some info about the ship and see how many people will be there.

Try a different cruise line. We started with Carnival and moved on after our first cruise. Love cruising on Princess.

I have been on nine cruises all on Carnival. I travel with a group of nine family members and we have never had a problem. The food was always good and activities were good. We don’t do the ship excursions, we just cab a cab and go to the beach or do local tour guides. I think what you have to have when cruising is patience. We don’t get in a hurry to do anything on the ship. We plan what we want to do each day and make note of what time the activities that we want to do start. If we decide not to do something no big deal. You on vacation leave the worrying at home!

Just because YOU didn't like the cruise is no reason to say "Don't sail this ship" in your ship tips. Cruising is obviously not for you personally but others 💖 it and 💖 the Magic!

Yep! ONE carnival cruise is all it took for me too! Fortunately , carnival wasn't my first cruise, or I would have never cruised again. We chose other cruise lines for our next cruises. We've taken 8 cruises since then, and LOVED them all!

Stick to the land. I have over 200 nights sailing, mostly on Carnival but across 6 different lines, nd not a complaint worth mentioning. You're either a happy cruiser or You're not

1 cruise on 1 old ship and you're ready to disown Carnival already!? Try one of the new ships and go during the off season in the fall & winter. You can always expect lines. If lines are a problem, try a smaller ship with a lower capacity. If that doesn't butter your toast, stick to something land based.

if those complaints are what's going to keep you from going with carnival again, then cruising won't be for you no matter what line. there will always be lines, especially in summer and when schools are out. lido/buffet food is always so- so since their l they're cooking for thousands (rcls buffet was terrible)

Sorry you were disappointed with your cruise. Maybe try a different cruise line next time. Thank you for sharing.

I'm taking my 1st cruise next year. I really have zero expectations. I'm not doing any excursions this time. I'm really excited to see the sunset and stars. I'm sorry your 1st cruise was disappointing. Don't give up on it though. Thanks for your review.
