Review summary
This is the cruise that sold us on Carnival! On this sail, we had a passenger who worked in the lab where they tested for Ebola. This was during the Ebola scare in 2014. The CDC had a quarantine window of 7 days. A day after we set sail, the CDC changed the guidelines to longer. The person was basically taped in their room for this trip. We were not allowed to enter Cozumel and we had to remain out of port until a Coast Guard Helicopter came and retrieved blood samples from the person from the lab. The person tested negative and we entered port a bit late. With all of this, none of which was Carnival's fault, Carnival offered every passenger aboard a $200 ship credit and offered 1/2 off the next cruise, to be used in the next 2 years. My quick estimate was this cost Carnival over $2m for something they had no control over. Carnival and the crew went above and beyond! We decided when we sail, it will be with Carnival, from that trip forward!Embarkation
