Review summary

This cruise was still during Covid and there were staff shortages but we made the best of it. The staff members were so kind.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
We had an early embarkation time but the line moved slowly. This was the first time that Carnival Magic left from Norfolk and they were not ready. We had some issues with the Verify app and at each check point we were tagged and held up.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We love the Dream class ships and the various food venues. Didn't have anything bad on the ship.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed mostly leisure activities such as shows and listening to music.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The production shows were ok. The America Rocks was so loud that we left. We preferred the live musicians.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Always excellent service!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Love this class of ship! The ship had recently been in dry dock and it looked great.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
First time in a Deluxe Oceanview cabin and loved the layout as well as the bathrooms.

Ship tip

Enjoy your cruise!

Ports of call

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Love this beach! Just hung out in the water mostly.

Nassau, Bahamas

2 out of 5
We didn't get off of the ship because we docked in the afternoon and it was pouring rain. Others we spoke with that did go on an excursion were unhappy that they did. Not Nassau's fault, just bad weather and a late arrival.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

4 out of 5
We went to Pirates Cove and enjoyed it.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Worst disembarkation ever! We were in luggage zone 2 and asked to wait in the theater for priority disembarkation, which we did. The self assist line was so long that we waited over an hour before they stopped the self-assist folks so we could get off. We heard that they didn't have enough luggage tags for the number of cruisers and so people had no choice to check their bags.
