This was our second cruise and first with Carnival. The first was Alaska on RC. Carnival did a better job in our opinion.

We had a lot of anxiety over the Covid protocols and such leading up to the trip and it was very easy. Boarding was delayed a little due to the late return of the ship but the process was smooth.

I read some not so positive reviews leading up to our trip. If you can't find something you like to eat on the Magic, you might be the problem. We used the dining room, buffet, had pizza and burgers. We even tried the steakhouse. Everything was good. The service might be too slow for some but where else do you have to be?
Onboard Activities

The Fun Team is a blast. Shout out to Stephanie for making us feel so welcome.

We enjoyed the shows and the comedians were good. Not Vegas quality but they are all good and as others have said, you are there to participate and have fun.

Our room steward, Rosario, and our waiters, Constatin and Jovan took good care of us. No complaints at all.

Everything seemed to be working and it's clean. It didn't take us long to find our way around.
Cabin / Stateroom

We had a cove cabin and we loved it. Close to the water and very quiet.
Ship tip
Others have said this but this trip is what you make of it. There is always something going on so choose to be engaged and have fun.
We took the ski lift to the top of the mountain. The view was beautiful. We also watched some of the zipline people and that looked like fun. If I were younger, I might have joined them.
We did some shopping and took a taxi over to a near by beach where we sampled the local beer. Not much to see and do if you don't do an excursion or at least head to the beach. There is not a beach close to the dock.
We did the old fort tour. I caution you that it's a lot of walking and it takes up most of the time in port. Time might be better spent walking to old San Juan and shopping.
