Review summary

Cruises are like life, in my opinion. If you are looking for the flaws in things, you’ll certainly find them. If you look for the good and enjoyment, you won’t be disappointed. Our cruise wasn’t perfect, but it was still excellent. Cheers!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was very good. Although we had completed the VeriFLY app, they weren’t using it at the port yet that day, but no problem, processing went quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The MDR was standard (we enjoy it). Initially, we were assigned to a table sharing with others, but after a quick talk to the Maitre D, we got a table for 2. Breakfast in the MDR and Sea Day brunch was very good as always. We hit as many of the other dining areas as we could, and were not disappointed.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed only a few activities as we were wanting to chill this cruise. The salute to veterans was very meaningful. We enjoyed a classic rock show, maybe one of the best we’ve seen as far as song selection and performance.

Entertainment

Okay, I should have reviewed the live show here…🙄 My bad…

Service and Staff

Excellent staff, from servers to stewards.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The layout was just fine. We had an aft balcony so the buffet was a few floors up and our MDR was a few floors down. Very convenient. The ship was spotless as always been our experience…

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had an aft, extended balcony in the middle, which gave us about 3 feet more in the room (due to the shape of the ship). It was very clean and well maintained. This room was above the Spotlight Lounge and we could hear the music. This isn’t a complaint, just info to those who might be bothered by sound. We knew it when we booked the cabin, and it didn’t bother us so we were just fine with it. We ran into rough waters one night and could really feel the movement. Again, no complaints- we do our homework before picking cabins and accept the characteristics… We enjoyed it very much.

Ship tip

We were always able to find a hot tub that was vacant or only one more couple. Many Carnival ships have them, and I highly recommend taking some time and enjoying the violin trio… excellent. If you want quality mixed drinks, the Alchemy Bar is the best choice. The bars on the Lido didn’t know some basic drinks… Enjoy the ship, she’s a beauty.

Ports of call

Grand Turk Island

No excursion but hit the beach that was right off of the ship… excellent

Port Canaveral, Florida

We spent 3 pre-cruise days in Cocoa Beach, loved the area, the beach, and sea food restaurants.

Oranjestad, Aruba

We took a tour of the area and ended at Eagle beach. We enjoyed our day there.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was slick, simple as that. We arrived at the theatre at 8:10, sat 5 minutes, then were called to debark (we had “#2” luggage tags). We collected our bags, were on the Carnival shuttle, and leaving the port by 8:40. Couldn’t have asked for better…
