Over all I was somewhat satisfied to satisfied. Not sure if I would do a Carnival cruise again. I have been on Disney and Carnival cruise so would like to try others.

Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Had a hard time finding anything that was great to eat, at best mediocre food. Juices, tea and lemonade were so strong, had to dilute them with water. I don’t drink alcohol beverages very often and wanted to catch a buzz being I was on vacation, but couldn’t even after 15 whiskey or rum and cokes in 3 hrs at the casino. Should have drank beer, because you must receive a half shot of liquor at best in a mixed drink.
Onboard Activities

Enjoyed playing pool, bags, arcade and miniature gulf with my daughter.
Entertainment

Be to the piano bar an hr before they open if you want to get a seat. Hasbro was a nice game show for the family.

Ship Quality

Quite a bit of rust on ship, along with constant dirty windows and hard to find clean tables to eat at.
Employee areas of the ship were clean as a whistle so don’t know why paying customers can’t have things clean?

Ship tip
Expect average at most for a cruise, but with a better price.
Owed $30 when we tried walking off ship, even though our bill showed zero balance. Had to be pulled aside for someone to try and run our card to pay the bill, but because the guy wouldn’t run the card through the reader correctly it would t work, so had to stand there for a half hr before he told us to go and they would send us a bill. Must have been pretty worried they weren’t going to get $30 after we spent $3k on board.
I’ll mention one more thing, beings people get so hurt over everything. I had an employee tell me that the Asian employees can’t stand white or black people and think we are all stupid and just pretend they like us to our faces. This was mentioned when I had room service.
This was on the Carnival Magic also and no I’m not exaggerating and making this up either.
Some people just get so defensive these days. This was just my review of our cruise. Leave your own review if you thought it was so much better. Wasn’t saying it was a bad cruise, but it wasn’t an over the top cruise. Just like I mentioned before, it is an average cruise for a good price. Sorry you were offended by this. I’m glad some people are catered to while on this cruise! I can tell you that I did not see one person being asked if they needed refills on anything, unless you were sitting at a bar or restaurant. There was no way they were going to be asking people if they needed refills when they couldn’t keep the tables clean.
As far as the drinks in the casino...No I didn’t spend a large amount, I spent a small sum of money and hit two large jackpots the very first night and was awarded 15 free drinks/day in the casino for the remainder of the cruise (7 days). You could have one drink every 5 minutes minimum. So no I’m not exaggerating...Think before you speak!
How were you able to see the employee areas of the ship? Those are usually only accessible if you're, well, an employee. Perhaps after 15 rum & cokes in 3 hours your memory was a bit fuzzy 🤔
We were on this same cruise. Never saw a dirty table as messes were cleaned immediately. We made friends with a man who took care of a section of tables in the buffet. Humberto. He was so great! Always asking us if we needed refills on drinks or anything else! The ship does have some rust but she's aging. Windows are difficult to keep clean at sea but we didn't notice any issues. I have also sailed Disney, twice. And, Carnival twice. Disney is great but way too overpriced. We love Carnival and the Magic. You must have spent a lot of money in the casino to be getting that many free drinks in three hours. Sounds a bit exaggerated.
We were just on the Magic and had a great time. Never saw a dirty table and always saw staff cleaning. The menu in main dining room could use something different and be changed up, been the same for awhile now. I've also been on Disney and NCL we prefer Carnival. Glad there are choices for everyone not every line is for everyone.
Well obviously a $500 cruise on Carnival isn’t going to compare with a $1500 cruise on Disney. That being said Carnival does tend to be hit or miss. The Magic was my least favorite, but I still had a good time. I prefer their Conquest class ships on shorter cruises.
