Great cruise. I would do this whole cruise again. I would also go the Magic again.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
It was really good, showed up a few minutes early for or noon check in and walk right on to the ship, never stopped and never waited. Best out of 10 cruises.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate at the MDR most nights and found the food to be good and hot. We had anytime dining and never had to wait for more than a couple minutes. The check in on the carnival hub app made it easy, but wish you could request seating in a particular waiter's section before arriving, never had a problem switching (we find a waiter we like a request them each night). We also went the steakhouse which was delicious the ice and smoke oysters and art at the table were the highlights. Also the new Lido cakes during lunch are amazing, wish they had them in the evening as well.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The fun squad was not that fun they seemed to be just checking the activity of the list and not in to it. Most of the activities were jammed packed full during the day, and there were times on seaday that didnt have much of interest. Comedians were Ok not great but not bad. The water slides were fun. The hot tubs were cold, not even warm.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The shows were good when they had the full shows. The best show we saw was 88 keys. America Rocks was good too. 2 nights they had modified shows (country roads and flick) one of the techs was sick and had no replacement so they mostly sat in stools and sang, so more like watching karaoke. And speaking of which for the variety entertainment night it was Marcus Anythony, seen him before on a different ship and was unimpressed again.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone was friendly, and we had a good time.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
I liked the promenade deck how it wrapped around the ship. The layout was easy to figure out, there wasn't any bottle necks. Ocean Plaza needed to be twice as big. The ship was super clean. They ship was getting painted in ft Lauderdale and it needs it, a lot of rust but it's mostly cosmetic most areas were well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Nice cabin, standard size, shape, and features. The only negative which probably had to do with the room steward was there was no pen or paper like usual. Also there was no room service menu. We has 2 days of balcony cleanings so it was off limits for a few hours, honestly I think nothing happened the first time, hence the second cleaning.
Ship tip
There is too much to do, so don't try to do it all. Stop to relax. Also and I may regret saying this if everyone figures it out. Skip the Lido buffet on embarkation day, Guys Pig & Anchor is open and almost nobody know it, so go have a really good BBQ lunch and no lines, plus it gets really busy on on the seadays, so it a good day to enjoy it.
This is turning into the new Nassau for carnival, it seems as of late all the ships stop here. I do enjoy Grand Turk much much more than Nassau, but I know it will get old soon. One HUGE plus is the snorkeling it is amazing there, you have to take a boat to the better locations but well worth it. This time instead of snorkeling we did an island tour since we hadn't done it before. It's a small island with not much going on, I would recommend the water activities over the tour but it was neat to see the island. The best part of the tour was seeing the wild donkeys, they are friendly and will come up to you and let you pet them.
Bermuda is beautiful. We did 3 excursions. One was the Best of Bermuda tour, which was you typical bus tour, stops were too short, but it was still close to a full day tour. At night we did a night time glass bottom boat tour is was interesting and fun to be on the water in the dark and the sky was beautiful, the shipwreck and reef were Ok. The last excursion was just awesome. We went to a park and explored some caves both wet and dry, then we jumped off some cliff into the water and then spend the afternoon at the beach, it was a lot of fun.
Getting off the ship was smooth no lines at all. The customs area not so much. There weren't any porters available so we skipped them. The customs line was HUGE but kept moving maybe 30 min.
