Review summary

This cruise was a special cruise to Bermuda and it was very special. The weather was great and the Seas were smooth. The Fun Staff did a great job keeping passengers engaged and having a good time. Boarding and embarkation was very smooth. Entertainment was good although not excellent.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was good. They boarded the wedding groups followed by the Carnival Diamonds and then the Platinum. Rooms were not ready for Diamonds and Platinums although they allowed you to put your bags in your room. Holland America always has rooms ready for 5 and 4 Star Mariners. In all fairness this is.the first time our room was not ready as a Diamond on Carnival.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Guys Hamburgers are very popular and also the fries. Food was a hit and miss especially with the cut melons, including watermelon. It was not ripe enough (hard) and not sweet enough. The lines at the Lido buffet were usually long especially for the Mongolian Wok. The lines at the regular buffet were long and you find this on many Carnival ships. The salads options (which are plenty) cause passengers to freeze in time almost since they cant make up their minds... So it is like a domino effect. No one wants to cut in line so they just wait. I spoke to one of the supervisors to ask that they expedite the lines by serving the passengers and help passengers make decisions. This would make food more sanitized, save on food and make lines faster.

Northern Lights and Southern Lights Dining Rooms

5 out of 5

Diamond party held in the Northern Lights restaurant was excellent. Captain and officers came to introduce themselves to Diamond members.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the Thermal pool and Spa using the couples pass for the week. We enjoyed listening to Junior with the steel pan music over the pool.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Con Sabor is a good Latin group in Ocean Plaza. Sea Monkeys was also enjoyable but they did not play enough dancing music. Playlist Productions group was very talented group but 2 of the shows they decided to forgo the production and just sing on chairs on the stage. Marcus Allen production was excellent

Encore! Main Lounge

5 out of 5

88 Keys was first of Playlist Productions on Sunday (Gala Night)

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ships overall cleanliness was very good but there was rust on the ships exterior and on our balcony.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cabin is nice size with adequate drawer space. Cabin however is subject to noises from equipment on deck 3 in morning and around midnight. Also could hear TV from next room which was on constantly. The problem came from the adjoining door. I had to call the cabin next door 2346 to ask them to lower their tv. Two of the nights I inserted the bedding dressing (in plastic) to absorb the noise from the adjoining cabin.

Ports of call

King's Wharf, Bermuda

5 out of 5
Bermuda is a very enjoyable port . It is very clean and orderly. Bus and ferry transportation is convenient and reasonably priced. We were able to see the town of Hamilton. (We took the city bus for $5 each way). We visited government buildings and museums, galleries and restaurants. The following day we took the ferry to St. George's and took a narrated tour guide to show us around town. The ferry was air conditioned and comfortable. We later spent time around the Dockyard with its shops and restaurants. We did not take time to go to the beaches although many did.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We are VIFP Diamonds and yes we have a special place and time to assemble to depart. We are used to this BUT this disembarkation was very special. Diamonds were given a special lounge and as you came in they asked you to line up your luggage from first to last who came. When it was time to depart Christian made an announcement asking passengers to line up with their luggage and then the call to disembark was made and it was very orderly and fast. This is the best disembarkation I have ever experienced.

The hallways had a terrible musty moldy odor. Some of the staff were very rude.
