Review summary

Overall, we had a wonderful Cruise. We've sailed with carnival before, and I would certainly sale with them again. I understand that it's a less expensive cruise line so you kind of get what you pay for. The alcohol packages are completely and totally ridiculously priced. And I wish they offered similar "freebies" such as Norwegian does. I definitely think that carnival needs to step up their game in the way of entertainment. The other Cruise lines just blow them awayain thattdepartment, but then again that could be because of the cost of a carnival Cruise. It would also be nice to have a pool on the adult only deck. I would like to go on vacation and not have to worry about kids in a crowded pool.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was great. I wish there were more specialty restaurants to choose from. Pizza shop needs improvement. There is ZERO taste to the pizza. Very disappointing. Although always very busy, I believe people are the pizza because it was stne only one on the ship. Breakfats buffet was horribly boring. Same thing every day. Carnival could learn a few things from Norwegian's buffet! Main dining room experience was great, food was great and service was even better! We had John, Gede, & Bryan and they took extra special care of us!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
One thing Carnival lacks is good entertainment. We did enjoy the trivia and 2 comedians at the beginning of our cruise. But as the week wore on, there just wasn't anything to do. The quality of the shows is just not up to par with some of the other Cruise lines. other cruise lines have Broadway type shows. Carnival just doesn't even touch that level.

Service and Staff

Every staff member on carnival Cruise was top-notch. Extremely friendly and went out of their way to help us. Some even went out of their way just to strike up conversations with us and I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff was!

Cabin / Stateroom

When I first arrived on the ship I had to have my cabin re-cleaned. It was incredibly Dusty there was dirt on the bottom of all the closets and the cove balcony was pretty dirty. While I enjoyed having a cold balcony, I think being on the second deck of the ship lends itself to a very dirty balcony. There were always paint chips and dirt all over our balcony. It was also oftentimes wet. after I made my complaints about the cleanliness of the cabin known to the Stuart he promptly came in and cleaned it and for the rest of the trip I did not have an issue.
