Review summary

This was hands down the best vacation our family group of 9 has ever had. The cruise was a first for several of us in the group and it was above and beyond what we expected. There was always something to do and always plenty of good food and drink to enjoy. The excursions were wonderful and we all had a very enjoyable time on this trip. The ship is very well maintained and is beautiful. Everyone should enjoy a cruise on the Carnival Magic.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very well organized and smooth process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Awesome. The food was great and if you were hungry, it was your own fault.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There was ALWAYS something you could be doing while on board. Plenty of activities for all ages at all times. The shows were great, the comedians were funny and the Cruise Director knows how to get a crowd wound up and having fun.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Stage shows were fantastic and the musicians/DJs and performers were all VERY talented and a pleasure to watch.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every staff member and I do mean EVERY one of them always had a smile on their face and were more than willing to help in any way. They all work together like a well oiled machine.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Magic is very well maintained and very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was actually bigger than I expected. It was very clean at all times and it was comfortable and efficient.

Ship tip

Be sure to download the Carnival Hub App on your phone. Set it to airplane mode so you can "unplug" from the rest of the world and enjoy your trip. The Hub App will help you remember activities you want to attend.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
This is a busy port and it's ran very well. Embarkation and Debarkation were easy and interesting to watch.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

3 out of 5
This will probably be a better port of call once the final recovery is made from the hurricane two years ago. It's OK, but it will get better soon.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
Beautiful Island with lots of things to do and see. The people are all very nice and willing to share their rich history.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

3 out of 5
This port of call is also still recovering from the hurricane two years ago. Interesting place with some beautiful places to see. Just needs a little more time to recover. The people are very nice though.

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
This port of call has the most beautiful waters I've ever seen. Plenty to do and a wonderful beach to relax on. One of our favorite ports.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth. Everything is planned out well and information shared in advance on what to expect and do.
