Review summary

Some parts were better then expected some were worse. Main food was better, we ate a lot but didn't gain any weight likely dt always using stairs not elevators. For first time cruisers with kids this is a good option, we will try other companies next

Embarkation

1 out of 5
We waited 5 hours in the sun, they started embarkation after 5 PM when ship should have been sailing already. Carnival offered no explanation during the wait or after. Our whole family got burned waiting despite using sunscreen, ruined our trip

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Plenty of food most very good however desserts sucked and fruit selection was lame and always the same. Fruits and veggies were not fresh for most of the trip, wilted. Only after our last stop in Mexico did I notice fruit was fresh all of a sudden.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Fitness center was always filled with kids so were the pools. Used the pools once, tried to use hot tubs but they were luke warm and with dingy water most times.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Caught a couple comedy shows that were listed as different comedians but ended up being the same one. There were couple good movies on main screen during the week cruise. Most shows in the theater were good enough that you didn't hate it and stayed since there was nothing better to do but none were great

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Waiters were great room steward gave us his number if needed but never picked up the phone and was nowhere to be found after the first day.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Staff did a great job keeping common areas clean. They refilled the pool nightly with clean water, didn't see them do the same with hot tubs though.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
There was 4 of us in the cabin. I noticed walking down the hall while cleaning crew had doors open to clean cabins, that most two person cabins seemed larger. They had totally different set up, don't know why one would do that but our room was what we expected, no complaints

Ship tip

I would sail with someone else if no little kids. Our teenagers did not participate in most activities

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
This is embarkation port, used an uber to get here and leave from here, very convenient and much more affordable then shuttles offered by the ship

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Loved stingray sandbar, don't miss this

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

3 out of 5
Water at beach not clear probably dt too many people. Carnival had two ships in port at the same time. Food should be included on their beach and it's not. Snorkeling was not good corals too close to surface, scratch you, too little fish.

Belize City, Belize

3 out of 5
None of the excursions here are close by, you spend most of the time you paid for traveling to and from excursions and rushing when you're there

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Most beautiful port out of the ones we visited. Dolphin excursion very close by, 5 min drive. Shopping too expensive though like in most ports

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
This went smoothly, we kept our luggage with us.
