Not ideal. No food was offered once we embarked. We were told we needed to wait until we got into international seas.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Food was not that great. Ship Smelled TERRIBLE. It smelled of raw sewage/mildew and was very unpleasant especially in the Aft section of the ship, and the aft hallways/rooms. Specialty restaurants were expensive. Drinks contained no alcohol and were very overpriced.
Onboard Activities

Pools and hot tubs were okay, but were so small. It was difficult to find a hot tub with room. Hot tub temperatures varied from extremely cold to extremely hot depending on which hot tub you were in. Not very much entertainment found on the ship. I will say comedy clubs were fun. Music was okay, but a lot of 90s music played and same songs were played over and over again. I enjoyed the Dr. Seuss Breakfast.

Some of the musicians were good. I liked DJ Black Zoe.

The only thing that saved this ship from being a complete disaster was the crew. They were very nice, and made the experience better.

Ship Smelled of raw sewage and mold and mildew in the aft sections, and in our room. Guest Services did NOTHING about it until the final day, and even then the problem was not rectified.
Cabin / Stateroom

Room was okay in size, steward cleaned the room, but it always smelled horrible. I could not stand being in there any longer than I had to.
We sailed the first week in February. It was our 12th cruise. The mold smell was horrible (8267). My husband and I both came home sick and are still on steroids and antibiotics. Our room attendant Su was amazing he tried cleaning the carpets....deodorizers. The supervisor of the floor actually came into the room and said she didn’t smell anything. Actually tried making me feel stupid but it was burning my nose. Glands swelled in my throat. I’m glad to hear we weren’t going crazy. I think you should give cruising another try...maybe Celebrity or Royal Caribbean. Carnival lost us as a customer 😞
No food or activities on the ship? All of the buffets are open from the Tim you board until the muster drill, then after the muster drill it's nothing but fun, more food and activities til disembarkation! I have a feeling that you were expecting a crumby time, so that is what you found.
We were on the same cruise as you and we didn’t encounter any of these issues. I’m sorry it wasn’t a great time for you. As for the no food offered on embarkation, we ate almost immediately after we got on the ship at 11:30am on embarkation day. Do you mean the main dining room wasn’t open right away?
