Review summary

Overall I had a great time. The cruise was actually a great value and there was really never a dull moment.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
I don’t know if we just lucked out or what but we pretty much just walked straight into the ship with no waiting in any sort of line.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Dining room meals were solid. I was getting pretty burnt out on the breakfast buffet by the end. Guy burgers, late night sandwiches, and pizza solid also. I never did get to try the barbecue place because it kinda kept sketchy hours.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I had a good time playing dodgeball. There were actually a few activities I wanted to try that I didn’t get the chance to because I was so busy.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Entertainment was pretty good overall, I really wanted to catch all the comedy shows but was unable due to the lounge being so crowded.

Children's Programs

We did bring any children with us.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
We had trouble getting our room cleaned the first couple days we were on board. The waters and food service workers were all pretty good but the staff at the bars not so much. Several times I waited at the bar for a drink and finally got impatient and just left.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The layout was pretty good. It would’ve been nice to have water, coffee, and a smoking area available without having to go at least halfway up the ship. Cleanliness was actually pretty impressive considering none of the common areas were ever really “closed.”

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our cabin was small but I found the layout to be very functional.

Ship tip

Bring a large coffee container and a large water bottle.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
Miami was pretty much just getting on and off the ship. No excursions.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

3 out of 5
Amber Cove was pretty but all we found to do was go swimming in a pool, which I could’ve done at home. But overall it was pretty fun.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
We booked an excursion at coral ocean which was pretty disappointing, especially when you consider the cost of it. The beach there was filthy.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
San Juan was beautiful. We got off the ship and booked a bus tour for $10 a person. It was a great tour and well worth the money. The shopping was pretty much the same as every other port but the shops themselves were all along the narrow streets in old San Juan. It was pretty fun wandering up and down.

Grand Turk Island

4 out of 5
The beach at San Juan was beautiful and very accessible to the boat. The shopping was the same as the other ports.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Getting off the ship was slow and a lot of waiting in line.
