Review summary

Great overall cruise. Ship needs to let prospective cruisers know to eat when you want does cost much more money. The other option is to wait in extremely long lines for free food at really one buffet.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
A lot simpler than other previous cruises

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Dining room was good but food slow. Not enough free specialty eating locations available throughout the ship. Single buffet 9th deck means very long line each and every time. Food locations were an issue on this ship.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Theatre shows and comics were average at best. Activities were plenty and exciting.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
High school level performances

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Even under pressure still professional service.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Excellent

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Very clean, with enough room, but could hear everything in next door cabin (and I mean everything). Bed kept coming apart, since it is two twin beds pushed together.

Ship tip

Prepare to wait to eat or bring plenty of money.

Ports of call

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Yes. Learnt a lot about the country and culture

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
Yes. Enjoyed a relaxing tour of island.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
Yes. Rode through the jungle on horse back. Good excursion.

Grand Turk Island

3 out of 5
Yes. Island was just so small, had limited activities and things to see.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Earlier than expected, easy and convenient

You can eat at the Italian restaurant for free at lunch. The Mongolian wok is great and free. Of course there is guys burgers, pizza, the deli and pig and anchor. All are free

The buffet is only one option. The dining rooms do not charge extra. The specialty restaurants do charge extra. All of this information is available to prospective cruisers if they do a little light reading.

We always eat dinner in the dining room. No extra charge, no waiting in lines. We also eat there for breakfast on sea days.

You have the option for breakfast and dinner in the dining room that way you don’t have to wait in line at the buffet.
