Review summary

We were a group of 21 people on a family reunion cruise, ranging in age from 4 years old to 87 years old.. There was enough variety of activities to do on the Magic that we were able to keep occupied each day with fun activities. Our room steward was extraordinary, the best I’ve ever had. The ports were beautiful and fun.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was fast and efficient. We were on the ship within 30 minutes of dropping off our luggage.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room food was good with lots of variety. Enjoyed the specialty IItalian restaurant on embarkation day. Buffets were good.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the trivia contests and other contests on board.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Cookie, the cruise director, was an absolute hoot. The Playlist shows were good, with very talented entertainers.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had the best room steward ever. He made us feel as if we were his only customers and greeted us by name and a smile each time he saw us.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was very clean. Only flaw in design was the Showroom Lounge which was much too small for the comedy shows.

Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip

Pace yourself. You don’t have to do everything the first day.

Ports of call

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

Went on La Casa En La Playa excursion and had a blast. Although we had double the customers due the the Horizon being in port, it did not seem crowded and we had plenty of great food and items such as kayaks, paddle boards and snorkel equipment. Mama, the hottest, made sure that all our needs were met, and the beach staff made sure we were safe and had a good time.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Went on Turtle Cove Sail and Snorkel on the Castaway Girl with her captain, Jolene. Great staff who kept us entertained and made sure all were safe. It was a bit crowded with 4 catamarans in the small cove so we were swimming into each other, but the vessel itself was terrific.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Did the Puerto Rico’s Favorites excursion. Very informative tour of some of the most popular attractions in San Juan and El Yunque, the rainforest. Angel, our guide, was terrific.

Grand Turk Island

Didn’t do an excursion here. Not much to do other than Walk around in stores and big pool.
