Review summary

It was a good trip all in all. My teenage kids enjoyed their first cruise. The size of the ship was good and the entertainment was plenty. The food needs improvement in the main dining though. The internet packages do not work! Don’t waste money on them! Excursions great.

Embarkation

Got off to a great start. Check in and boarding went well.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The main dining was just okay. The food was just not very good and was cold most nights. Wait time on the food was also slow. Buffet lines were long but the food was good there. We didn’t do any specialty dining this time.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There were always activities going on. We mostly stayed by the pool. The cruise director was great.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Plenty of entertainment for everyone.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Everyone was helpful. Room service was very fast. The waiters were friendly. The stewards were friendly.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
I had a hard time finding my way around. Some signs would be helpful. They layout was fine and the common areas were clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

The rooms are very small but that was no problem. The closets were large enough to accommodate us. However, the room was not clean upon arrival. The vanity had mascara all over it and the glass shelves in the bathroom had not been cleaned and all. We found a jacket and some eye drops from previous cruisers, left in the room. The bed was made everyday but the overall cleanliness of the room did not meet my standards by a long shot.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

It was fine. No excursions here. We just got on the boat here with no problems.

Cozumel, Mexico

This was a great port. We rented a Jeep very easily right outside the port. Later that afternoon, we arrived back at the port and shopped for awhile. It was nice.

Belize City, Belize

This port was not very impressive. We were constantly haggled to buy things or purchase an excursion. We didn’t do an excursion there but I wish we could have. Unfortunately all the snorkel packages that we were interested in doing in Belize had sold out through Carnival before we could book one. We were told not to book outside of Carnival so we didn’t. It was an inconvenient port because the ship cannot dock there. I don’t feel like we actually got to experience Belize and I really wanted to snorkel there.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

This port was amazing. It was beautiful and clean with much entertainment. We did the Jolly Rogers catamaran trip and loved it. The snorkeling there was wonderful! This was our favorite place that we visited.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
This was a very nice port with so much entertainment. It was very clean! We did a catamaran and snorkel excursion there. It was nice but the water was a bit rough and the snorkeling area was also. Plenty of food and shopping and entertainment for everyone though, once we were back at the port.

Disembarkation

This was a nightmare. It was very unorganized. The elevators were packed with people wanting to get to the disembarkation floor. Our group had to ride down separately and got separated. They didn’t call the floors like they said. It took us over an hour to get off the ship.
