poor overall experience, Carnival offers very little in the form of on board activities- (unless of course you want to hang out in the casino) I do not, cannot stand the smoke. Same problems with Carnival- people "saving chairs with towels for hours" , drink program is expensive and you have to wait 5 minutes between drinks - so you cannot order a water and a glass of wine. stupid! I was looking forward to fabulous food and hospitality and was disappointed with both.

Food and Dining

the food was just "ok" nothing spectacular and steak was all dry no matter how it was odreded
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
pools full of young children at all times, the entertainment in the showroom was the same 8 people singing "broad way type singing" and pretending to play different instruments (guitar, piano). I've seen better performances at my local high schools. The comedians were good. (some better than others) but you watched the same 2 for 2 days and then they brought on 2 more and those 2 performed for 2 days.
Entertainment

the only good entertainment was at the piano bar- this guy was awesome.
Service and Staff

room porter was excellent - name was I MADE. Other staff members were not very friendly and some were rude.
Ship Quality

ship design - poor, smoke filled casino is in the middle so you have to walk through it . The "serenity" area is beside the children's slides and you have to walk through a bunch of screaming water soaked children to get away from children that you can clearly hear from the "adult only" serenity section. There is 1! that's right ONE, specialty coffee bar on the ship and guess what?, you have to walk through the smoke filled casino to get to it.

excellent- and wonderful cleaning staff
Ship tip
pick a different ship ! this was our 3rd cruise and by far the worst, this ship feels like it is about to fall apart, very "rocky" and noisy
If you don’t like the kids on the ship you should go on a different cruise line. I go on carnival once or twice a year and never had any problems with children or the food. The service was great. There are other ways of getting around the ship. You don’t have to go through the casino you can go one floor down and avoid the smoke and people having fun . Try Disney no casino. But they have loud wet children. But very expensive.
I had the cheers before and never had to wait for a water if i was also ordering alcoholic bev. Usually they have multiple stairs going down to the casino level so people who does not care and would like to avoid the casino and most of the smoke they could. I always find my way around it. When you on a ship you have to be creative sometimes. But i do agree with the other maybe you should stick with main land vaca cruising might not be for you.
Holy crap I’m glad I haven’t cruised with you, as I have always had a great time and really wouldn’t that kind of negativity around me. Maybe you should Try a different cruise line or a different kind of vacation. I wish things were better for you.
Oops! Sounds like somebody isn't cut out for cruising. I found plenty of entertainment on the ship and I don't smoke or frequent the casino. Any cruise can be wonderful or miserable, depending on your attitude. Maybe try an all-inclusive resort next time.
We were on the Magic in September. It was great, had none of the problems you encountered. Food was good as was the entertainment. Ship was spotless. As someone else said maybe cruising isn't for you.
It is not cruising. It is the Magic. I love Carnival and have always had a wonderful time on all the boats large or small, but the Magic must have some management issues. Food was awful almost everywhere. It was dirty and he is so right about how they have the casino situated. I play for hours there but ga i forgot to walk thru to get to some other places is not fair to people who don’t care for it. I have to agree. Try the Conquest. It was wonderful. I am booked again for another cruise in 32 days.
