Would never again go on ship that big. It added nothing to the amenities or programming except crowds.
Two on board activities I would like to see is a live band karaoke and a musicians sit in band were other musicians could get a chance to play.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Tough we expected delays with such crowds it did move along at a reasonable pace.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
If you feel chain restaurants like Applebees or Olive Garden have 5 starr ratings then you may have a better opinion. I always hear about how great the food is on cruises, well after 3 cruises we have just found the food to be OK. On the other hand the service staff was always great and always seems to be part of the fun and reason to cruise.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
For us every activity was over crowded. even the serenity deck was like the Y on opening day.
Serenity
2 out of 5
I wanted to review the shops, but could not open a review screen.
shops were too few and over crowded.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
We did at least 10 shows and all were ok.
Spotlight Lounge
5 out of 5
Not the spotlight lounge but the piano bar was the best evening of entertainment with Singalong with Patrick.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone on the service staff was always ready and able to make your experience the best it could be. They all seem to embody the spirit of true customer service and client experience.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Ship too big, atrium too small. We found the ship layout to be very confusing, even after 7 days.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The room was as expected, our only problem was the safe needs to be able to hold a standard laptop.
Ship tip
Bring sneakers and plan on a lot of walking. Use hand sanitizer as often as possible, then moor.
I've been on the Magic numerous times and I agree the debarkatipn is a pain. I'm platinum but still have to wait while others who don't follow the instructions clog it up.
The most recent cruise seemed to be a little more organized, so may e Carnival Magic staff are getting a grip on their crowd control techniques. 🤣
