Review summary

I was switched to a less expensive cruise (Eastern Carribean to Western- $350 difference for the same stateroom ) 3 days before departure. After driving 4 1/2 hours we left Canaveral (Western cruises leave from Tampa, near my home) and then hit Cozumel, Belize, and Costa Maya, Mexico. We enjoyed the trip, but it was not because anyone went out of their way to make it better. We chose the ports of call for a reason. We absolutely did NOT want to go to Mexico. If I had cancelled or rescheduled, I would lose the money I spent. We would have been happy to postpone our trip to wait for the affected ports to recover.

Dang, how dare Mother Nature reign her holy terror on your vacation plans!! At least you were the only one it inconvenienced!

Well, that’s the risk you take in hurricane season. Can’t control Mother Nature.

Isn't that a risk during hurricane season?

We're booked for the Eastern in January. We too do not want to go to Mexico or Jamaica. Sure hope our ports are open by then. We specifically chose this cruise for the itinerary.

At first I though you saved money by you yourself changing cruises at first but now I get it. But we all take that risk when we sail around hurricane season and agree to the cruise contract, they can't help it if a port is closed, but I understand you frustration, it doesn't feel like you got what you paid for.

Yes booking the Carribean in hurricane season means you must be flexible. Still stinks but could be a lot worse. Did the refund the difference? Did they add any onboard credit?
