Review summary

We have been on over 40 cruises....27 Carnival.

On the positive side, Carnival has vastly improved the embarking and disembarking process.

On the negative....getting more and more passengers on and off appears to be the main priority....even at the expense of the quality of the personal cruise experience.

We are becoming more and more disappointed with Carnival. Each time the personal experience is diminished due mainly  to staff-passenger ratio and Carnival omitting even the small personal touches, & amenities....mints on the pillow, lotion and shampoo in the bathrooms, one complimentary plate brought to the room during the cruise (even 8 day cruise) for Platinum members instead of two ---one sweet and one appetizer plate.

No bar waiters except in Casino, and  one bar, (Play It Again). You have to get your own drinks (squeezing between patrons sitting at the bar), by yelling to get a bartenders attention --they are too busy....then carry them to your seating area, usually requiring  two trips. Only saw one waiter on Lido, but not on upper sun decks. No one is going in their bathing suit or coverup to walk up and down stairs for a Bahama Mama.

Get NFL games....Direct TV, Sunday Ticket. Everyone was told there would be 3 games at the bars on Deck 5. Everyone was livid that we only got one network Sunday game....Miami, of course.

We mainly feel sorry for your waiters and room stewards....You need more. Cut some of the glitz on the ships and hire more people.

Not consistent No more attention to presentation of food except dessert. We were disappointed to be in a dining room that also had "anytime" dining, as this also apparently meant anything you want to wear. Carnival should enforce dress codes.

Waitstaff friendly and working hard but Overwhelmed. Passenger to Staff ratio is a huge problem.

Nice cabin, but no more little personal touches or conveniences, like lotion or shampoo in the bathroom, no mint on the pillow, no mini bottles or drinks in the refrigerator even if you offer to pay for it!....little by little Carnival is chipping away at the little things that make people feel special on a cruise.

Ship tip

Bring a mask to walk thru the casino if you want to enjoy anything on the Promenaded deck. The CIGARETTE SMOKE IS HORRIBLE. How can a new ship have such poor ventilation?
