Review summary

After two years of trials and tribulations, my daughter and I planned a much needed vacation, with all the so called (expensive) bells and whistles. We opted for the Spa deck, stateroom with a nice balcony. We wanted to do many things in the spa, unfortunately, after the Seaweed wrap the therapist tries her best to up sell with the superbly over priced products. My daughter being in a separate room said she wasn't given options of saying no to products and was charged additional fees for the same service. I did straighten it out with the desk, although this left a very disappointing feeling of what our long awaited vacation was going to be like.

Nethier of us smoke, yet we found smoke butts on our balcony daily.

surely, the room Stewart didn't mean to leave our door open while we were out on an excursion. Still another reason, I was unsettled.

Food, although very plentiful was mediocre at best.

I doubt I will chose Canival again.

The spa associates are not part of carnival, they are a company from (Africa if I recall correctly) . But I agree no should be no. And for the bad neighbors I would have spoken to guess services.

You will find super pushy people in all ship spas. As far as the Cigarette butts I'd blame your neighbor as others have said. We love Carnival and I'm working on number 11 with them now.

I will not go to the spa on ships anymore the same deal in RC, very pushy trying to sell products.

The rest of the Spa experience is lovely. Hot tub, thallosotherapy pool, saunas, showers..... Even without a massage Rx... good stuff.

I had one.. you need to bring $20.00 cash tip. Up front, say this is for Nov sales push.. once you are in your private space.

I have had a couple of cruise vacations on Carnival. The real deal is, your own experience may be very different from another person's. We have not had bad neighbors. Carnival isn't in full control of that. When you appreciate the daily rate and what is included Vs. A land vacation and what isn't... even a mediocre ship tops most regular land vacations. If you open your budget.. more can be part of the fun.

I'd be annoyed and unsettled too. It sounds like you had a jerk in the next balcony that was tossing his trash onto yours. That's a shame this was your first. I should add that the standard food really doesnt get a whole lot better on other lines. Its all hotel food to me. Nice service, nice dining room, okay food.

My brother had a massage and they tried to sell him products as well. He said they were quite pushy. Since my brother was on the Spa level, I got to do the hot bed (think that's what it was called) and mineral pool. I liked it. Not sure why there would be cigarette butts on your balcony. I hope you let them know. I really liked the food. We splurged one night and did the steakhouse; awesome!
