Review summary

I really didnt like my vacation with Carnival ...many people told me about it before I went but I was already booked.  There were too many kids running around unattended at all hours of night.  Also I paid 2000 total for this cruise because I booked at last minuet but that should have made it cheaper.  The staff had to do a dance every night and you could see some of their faces they hated it!  Not a good variety of food.  Some staffers barely wanted to look at you so they didnt have to speak.  I learned the hard way as they say.  Then another thing I learned you dont need to buy excursions ahead of time because the ones I booked some where only charging 10 or 20 for the same trip at the port...legitamate ones. Poor customer service.

I cruise carnival all the time and children do no bother me- they are there to have a good time just like you are... If you go on a cruise or anywhere with preconceived negative opinions then that's what you will have -a negative experience ! 😳Any experience is what you make it- it's all up to you!!!😉

Sure.MonicaScott . I look every week on the VIFP offers on the carnival site. Just put in your VIFP number, its the one on your old sail n sign cards. That is how I found alot of cruises the last week of February offering 7 day cruises starting at $125.00 per person thrpugh July of this year. So we took 2 back to back cruises in March. At the same time they were offering 5 day cruises for $75.00 a person so will be doing back to back in August. Then last August we received an offer from the casino for a cruise in January for $50.00 a person plus $50.00 on board cash. We love cruising.

Carnival has the best customer service I've experienced . We were on a stranded ship last Sept and they were fantastic . I had a med issue on NCL and the ship Dr ruined my trip. They don't care at all. Your vacation is what you make it. Two grand and complaining ? Go camping.

I never seen any $10 or $20 excursion in the port I'd be afraid to get those. Btw, dinkyis1 where do you get those super good deals on cruises you took? Can you share?

We just took our 10th Carnival cruise and it was on the Magic. The crew was great, good food and the dining room staff only danced twice and seemed to enjoy it. We booked early inside cabin on deck 6 and paid $1320.00. You can't blame Carnival for poor parenting.

I've cruised the magic twice during peak season - yes it was crowded. I remember at the muster drill they told us 1,000 kids were on board and that was including the 4 I brought lol. I've even had "mediocre" food and experienced long lines, but the one thing I've never experienced was bad service. Carnival service has been top notch!

It depends on when you go, if it's the last week of may then expect lots of kids. We just got back from a 7 day, left on 5/21. I paid $399 per person for a Oceanview but I also booked it last july.

Been on RC & NCL they were great cruises.....but Carnival is all I do now. Did 5 day Triumph in January & 2 Magic back to back (14 days ttl) in March. We usually only do inside rooms so our Triumph cruise cost $50.00 ea gor a 5 day cruise + port n tax. Our Magic back to back cost a ttl of $250.00 each for the 14 days plus port n taxes. Was spring break so yes we had kids around but they never affected my vacationing fun. The staff were FANTASTIC. Cannot say I've ever had a bad cruise out of the 15 I've been on. I expectmy back to back cruises in 82 days will be no exception. Cruising isn't for everyone. .... and I'm sorry your's didn't go well.

1st cruise was with Carnival, absolutely loved it. Didn't really pay attention to the kids, was having way too much fun. Our room steward was awesome, met him for less than a minute and he addressed us by name everytime he saw us, didn't matter where he saw us on the ship.

The time of year for your cruise determines the amount of children on board. We only had about 100-150 children- of all ages- on board 2 weeks ago, but learned from the crew the number would be increase on the next trip to 800-1200. Kids are now getting out of school for summer vacation.

October this year will be my third cruise, and we love it. All of them were with Carnival. I've never paid less than about $2600. Our staffers knew our names and were super friendly. We were also super friendly to them. It helps. If you go on board expecting it to be a bad experience, it will be. We have a blast with everything.

Got off the Splendor a couple off weeks ago and booked for Aug and November..love carnival. All cruise lines have the same issues, nothings perfect. Cruise is what you make it!

Ive been over 10 cruises with carnival and never had a bad time, staff were great , friendly and knew our names , food always been great and they do have lots of variety of food . Paying 2,000 for a cruise is pretty good deal, i got off my 10th cruise in January and already booked my next one aug 2017 . Cruising isnt for everyone. Sorry for your bad experience.

It's not just a Carnival thing. We've sailed on Royal before and had similar poor service from staff. It was as if they didn't care if you were there or not. Some said it was last cruise for majority of contract and they were just burnt out. However other cruises with RC was superb. Our very first cruise was on the Carnival Sensation and it was amazing. Very attentive staff. I think it's all in timing, and what you make of it.

Sorry you feel that way cruising is not for everyone. The wait staff is not forced to dance.

I went on my first cruise with Carnival in April and loved it. The staff was very attentive and friendly, even called us by our names. The food was amazing and a great variety so not sure why you would say they did not have a variety of food. There isn't anything that I can complain about on our cruise and we only paid $700 for 7 days. We have already booked one for next year. I guess cruising is not for you.

Only 2 K for your cruise I have never paid less than 2500 or 2600 so you got a deal, and you must be very picky there are plenty of choices for food in several different areas of the ship.
