Review summary

Could not argue with the price of the cruise but you get what you pay for. The ship was very nice and clean but designed to have the most people poss. so that one always felt crowded what ever you did. The crew was as good as we ever experienced. Over-all we will not go on another Carnival cruise.

small but adequate. Balcony was almost useless even for two people.

Ship tip

Don't spend the money on the specialty resturants. No better than what you get in the regular fare.

BTW, the Magic is still my favorite.  I really prefer the layout of this ship over the others I've been on.  I understand the Breeze and the Dream are the same ships, but you never forget your first.

6 cruises on CCL and impressed every time.  My very worst cruise was still a blast, then again I'm pretty laid back, and not a high-maintenance person.  I like value, adventure, and being well provided for; Carnival hits bulleyes on every mark.  I've been told RCL is nicer and snootier (their words, not mine) but I'll wait until I'm older to find out.  For now, I'm completely satisfied by what Carnival gives me.

The deference between Carnival and Royal is not Crew or Food but the onboard experience Royal has more things like Flow-rider, ice rink, rock wall and zip line. These are things Carnival don't have. But not all people need these added features but if Carnival did have those I bet the would charge more for their tickets.

A vacation is what you make it!!! Sit back and enjoy the ride😎

I have been on Carnival and Royal and think they are both great cruise line's. In fact I currently have a Carnival and a Royal booked. The food and the crew are about the same to me. The crew can be rude and food can be bad but that can be the case at your local restaurant so brush it off and have a good time. I recommend both. Be nice even if their not and enjoy the ride and relax.

I can't wait till w go on the Magic on May 14th! We are platinum and working on Diamond! Woop! Woop!🍻🍻🎉🎉🚢🚢🚢🚢

We've only cruised carnival and while we've enjoyed our cruises, we've thought about "moving up" to Royal, but in my research I discovered that royal had the same type of complaints, especially with food. So, why pay so much more if it's not any better?

I LOVE Carnival and will sail Carnival until I reach Diamond. 😁💎 Its the fun ship in every way. I'm excited to take my son on this cruise, his 1st, next February after he graduated college.

we have done both Carnival and RC. our experience is the food quality and varieties vary from ship to ship but all in all is close to the same. I can't imagine preparing that much food that often for so many people. it's not going to be like a hometown sit down restaurant. Other friends have told us the same. Even Disney is comparable in the food area and varies from one ship to the next. Still the food isn't that bad and you can go to the private restaurants.

We've sailed 24 times, 9 on Carnival and #25 will be on the Magic in May. For the price they can't be beat. All cruise lines are cutting back and all of the people praising RCI mustn't have been on one in a while. Also Carnival has some of the largest cabins, RCI will be about 30-40 feet smaller with a tiny shower. Disney is the best but we can go on 2 1/2 Carnival cruises for the price of 1 Disney. We like Princess but they need ports closer to us. We have found Norwegian very hit or miss.

I agree it does rock.. carnival like all cruise lines makes mistakes, that's how they learn but if they were that bad then I don't think as many of us would be repeat guests..

we have only been on carnival 7 times have no desire to go with any other line they have been wonderful

I've only beenn ok n 4 cruises all with Carnival. I want to try other cruise lines but I hear so many horror stories so I think I'll stick with carnival a little longer.

We've sailed RCL, NCL, and Disney, but started to sail Carnival again and got hooked on Carnival. The last RCL cruise we did in 2014 on the Enchantment of the Seas the ship was poorly maintained and the food was horrible..... My family just come back from sailing the Oasis of the Seas and they said they paid top dollar yes the ship is beautiful, but the food was horrible.......

We always cruised carnival but decided a few years ago to try Royal Caribbean Their mega ships are gorgeous and the service is great but we felt it's time to come back to the FUN ships. Can't wait till August 27th!!!!😎

I've sailed on this ship 3 times and have never felt crowded. Carnival is Awesome all around! But just like every other cruise line they can't please everyone. You gave very high comments for 2 of 3 things you listed and yet you still rated 2 stars...not sure I understand that one! Go RCCL next time!
